I turned and gave a polite bow to the elders. "Goodbye, Mr. and Mrs. Holland."
Behind me, Abigail's sweet voice chimed in, "Geraldine is so beautiful and always performing on stage. She must have plenty of admirers. It's normal for her to be dating someone, right?
"Oh, and I think I saw a little hickey on her neck, under her scarf."
Realizing what she had just said, she gave an awkward laugh. "Sorry, maybe I shouldn't have said that. We art students are quieter types. Dancers like her are just more open, I guess. But I respect every lady's choices."
