The Purrfect Wingman
Before I could break the silence with some reassuring joke or half-baked compliment, a sudden weight pounced on the mattress.
I looked over just in time to see Pesto, the little gray tiger-striped menace, scrambling up from the foot of the bed. He was still awkward on his paws, more fluff than coordination, but somehow he managed to scale the covers like a pint-sized mountain climber. His tiny claws caught in the sheet, hauling his way up until, before either of us could react, he landed squarely on my bare chest.
And promptly peed.
