My Stepbrother's Lust

My Stepbrother's Lust

Cassian can't have killed him like it was nothing, but I'm not sure I know him anymore… I'm thinking about him again. Shit. When I step out of the shower, my towel is wound tight around my body, but the rumbling is louder than before. That's when it starts to rain. The whistle of the wind billows through my room, ruffling my curtains. Damn this unpredictable weather. I rush to the window and press a palm against the cold glass, watching the heavy downpour with growing dread. There goes every chance of a run. There goes my fucking beverage.

The Tale Not Old As Time

The Tale Not Old As Time

The sensation of the rain on her face was both soothing and cleansing, providing a momentary respite from her emotional turmoil. She remained knelt and seated on the ground, her body trembling with sobs. The dizziness that had plagued her earlier had not subsided, making it difficult to stand. As the rain continued to pour, she was surprised to discover that she was no longer getting wet. She slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurred by tears, and saw that a large umbrella was being held over her. The rain, which had been more relentless, now seemed to be falling around her, leaving her dry and protected.

THE SLAVE WHO REJECTED THE ALPHA

THE SLAVE WHO REJECTED THE ALPHA

Did something happen to the babies? The first raindrop hit hard enough for me to feel it against my skin. Then another. And another. Within seconds, the sound spread through the leaves above us, growing louder until it became a continuous drumming that swallowed everything else. The rain came down all at once, heavy and thick, with no warning beyond the dark sky I should have taken more seriously. Water started running down my face, my neck, soaking through my clothes almost instantly. I pushed the wheelchair harder, the wheels already sinking slightly into the ground that was beginning to give way beneath the weight.

Primordial Wolf: His Vengeful Queen

Primordial Wolf: His Vengeful Queen

CHAPTER 14. THE UNEXPECTED VISITOR The rain draped down my skin in a steady, downpour. I was wet like a puppy and my hair was sleek and glued to my face. It was heavy rain and a weird change in the weather. No one had mentioned the possibility of rain today. The day had also been so bright and had no trace of a storm. All of a sudden, the cloud had turned gloomy and the rain came down.

KNOCKOUT

KNOCKOUT

Her blood dripped from them, the droplets sliding down my forearms as I stared. I turned to Chris's body, and they were laying a white sheet over her on the gurney. My knees gave out at the sight, and I fell to the ground curling in a ball. My head was between my knees, and my body began to tremble. The dark clouds above us opened up with a slow sprinkle, but within a couple of seconds, it was pouring as if it were monsoon season, fat droplets of water pelting down rapidly as if the heavens were crying with me.

The Alpha’s Awakening

The Alpha’s Awakening

“You are fucking disgusting!” Ripping the door open, I charge out into the rain, almost falling down the metal steps. The rain was the heaviest I had ever seen, inches deep in the roads, almost like small waves forming as more rain came down. As cars drove by, they send up a huge wave of water, soaking me further. I hear him call out my name, just as another car soaks me, but someone grabs me, pulling me away..

His Mate Or His Step-Sister

His Mate Or His Step-Sister

Outside, the relentless rain continues to pour, its rhythmic drumming against the cave's entrance blending with the crackling of the flames. Despite Ashton's injuries—his face pale and trembling—I'm grateful we managed to find refuge here, escaping the weather's fury. My damp dress clings uncomfortably to my skin, fabric soaked through from the rain, and I desperately try to wick away the moisture with my hands, hoping to dry it a bit more.

Mated To The Bad Boy Alpha

Mated To The Bad Boy Alpha

The rain poured harder with every step I took deeper into the forest. The steady rhythm of water striking leaves and pooling in the soil created a natural symphony, a melody both soothing and unsettling. My clothes clung to my skin, heavy with the downpour, and I abandoned my hood, letting the rain saturate my hair and stream down my face. The sensation was a mixture of freedom and surrender, the cool droplets a stark contrast to the warmth of my flushed cheeks. I had always loved the rain—its soothing cadence on long, quiet nights—but tonight, it felt different. As if it carried the weight of my guilt, distorting the world around me.

The Mafia's Pawn

The Mafia's Pawn

As I dragged my feet along the streets with thoughts flooding my mind, the heavens opened up and began to pour down heavily. The rain fell like cold, heavy needles, each drops a sharp reminder of the emptiness inside me. I didn't bother to shield myself, didn't hurry to find cover like the few people still out on the streets. I just kept walking, each step dragging me further away from Miley’s house, from the ruins of my past, from everything that had once made sense. The rain drenched my hair, turning it into a matted, dripping mess that clung to my face and neck, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.

Mafia Men III - Mancini's Bride

Mafia Men III - Mancini's Bride

But now, they serve as painful marks that I can't erase. I trudged aimlessly through the street, my eyes darting nervously from side to side. Suddenly, a deafening clap of thunder boomed overhead, and the sky unleashed its wrath upon me as it started to rain heavily. The torrential downpour drenched me completely, piercing through my clothes and reaching my very bones. The icy rain pelted my face, tears of anguish streamed down my cheeks, blending in with the cascading water. The pain in my heart was only matched by the relentless fury of the storm.

I think this one was the best I’ve read in the series. I also saw the writer’s development improvements. I’m sad I finished it already but excited for the next ones to come :) good job author thanks for the amazing read and the laughs and tears this book brought ...🩷

I can’t choose a favorite anymore. It’s just too good. This was the book I enjoyed most, 1) because I relate a lot to the FL (character wise) and 2) because it seemed like both leads were communicating a lot better than in the other books, which leads to less frustrating misunderstandings.
