Hope’s POV The sky weeps and it floods the earth, causing the once-burning flames to smoulder, dispersing the suffocating smoke. I stand under the rain and with eyes closed, I lift my head up, part my lips and catch the raindrops that fall into my open mouth. The raindrop is salty. That is when I realise that I am tasting a mixture of rain with my own tears. Tears.

It was then that all her memories of before came tumbling in her head. Her body then slides down to the white-tiled that was floor of the bathroom. Her head resting on the cabinet that the sink was in. she began to cry hot and angry tears. But what is done is done. Plus it was only time before he would have claimed her anyways. But still, she had hoped that they could start an actual relationship beforehand.

Worse, the pain that we mutually feel causes my closed eyes to tear, and before I can stop it, numerous pearls of tears stream down my cheeks. Out of reflex, I raise my hand, intending to wipe my tears. It is then I discover that I can now move my hand. Not only can I move my hand, I unintentionally get my eyes open as soon as my fingers make contact with my tears, awaken by it, and am greeted by a realization that everything I feel earlier just belongs to a mere dream as I still find myself sitting on the same spot I occupy. I made a quick check on my surroundings and then move my baffled look to the wet tips of my finger, staring at them blankly.

For the first time, I had no answer on how to fix this, how to spin it… “Tell me Raine, how do I fix it? How should I explain this away?” “I don’t know!” I shouted back. Tears fell from my eyes without notice, and I was crying. My tears aren't from embarrassment, or anger, but for mercy. Please Mr. Davis, have Mercy on me and my career. “I will… I will–.” “You will what?” He shakes as he yells. I slid off the chair, quickly getting onto my knees in front of Mr. Davis.

I wanted to run but before I can take just one step, the drunk man already captured me, putting his left arm on the left side of my head and his right arm place on the other side. “There’s no way-out young lady!” But I didn’t do anything to harm myself and I told the beggar to run, shouting. The old poor beggar shakes slowly stand and the water from above starting to fall on the earth surface. The old beggar take-off his gray wet hood and look to my eyes. The beggar slowly takes his step to face me and the raindrops from the ground slowly rising directing to the old man’s hand. The raindrops starting to form a weapon, a knife made of water.

Tears stream down my cheeks as I grapple with the weight of my past, the years of servitude and sacrifice that have led me to this pivotal moment. My resolve is unyielding; I am determined to break free, to forge my own path. I struggle to maintain my composure. My vision is blurred by the tears and chill that assaults my senses. The road stretches out before me. The rain begins to fall in earnest, slicking the roads and obscuring my vision. The droplets pelt the windshield. I flick on the wipers, but the onslaught of water seems relentless. It’s a constant barrage that threatens to engulf me.

But then the heavens opened, and the rain poured down, soaking me, each drop icy as it struck my cheeks, my arms, my legs. I lay there, staring up at the sky, letting the rain wash over me. It felt like the universe itself was crying for me, shedding tears that I no longer had the strength to shed. I’d cried enough in my life, shed enough tears to fill an ocean, and now, even though I was breaking inside, I couldn’t cry anymore. The rain did it for me.

I blink hard as a tear threatens to escape, wiping it away quickly with my finger before he can notice. When I glance at him, his face is unreadable, eyes fixed on the screen, jaw set like he’s further inside the story than he’d ever admit. The reflection from the screen cuts across his face, sharpening his jaw, softening everything else, and I look away quickly, as heat begins crawling up my neck. Then the rain scene comes, and this time, there’s no stopping it. The tears come fast and traitorous, spilling over no matter how quickly I wipe them away, until the credits roll up.

She had nothing, no one to turn to, and no way out. The rain began to pour down in earnest, soaking her to the bone. It was as if the heavens were crying for her, sharing her pain. The noise of thunder rumbled in the distance, a low growl that mirrored the turmoil inside her. The tears she had been holding back finally broke free, mingling with the rain as they streamed down her face.

Bile lifts to my throat before I am vomiting all over the side of the road, unable to hold it in any longer. The rain soaks me in less than a moment. Lightening crackles in the sky, creating a loud thunderous noise. I slide down on my knees, tears falling down my eyes and disappearing behind the rain. I don’t know when the silent tears become choked sobs and then loud wails. “ Where are—where are you!? Come out now. ” I want him. I need him. “ I am so sorry. I didn’t mean it. I am so sorry. ”
