Raina, face glowing with a smile, walked calmly through the rain and said softly, “There was a time I really, really wanted to know. But since it’s all over now, it doesn’t feel that important anymore. People have to move forward.”
Leif, holding Gale in his arms, said gently, “Cool.”
For some reason, Raina felt her spirits lift. She seemed to have completely left Reid behind, her whole body feeling light and refreshed.
In her good mood, she couldn’t help but stomp playfully in the puddles. Especially the big ones—she’d deliberately step into them. Her shoes were soaked, but she seemed to be enjoying herself.
After a while, Leif spoke quietly, “Walk properly.”
