Rain Man Novel Novels & Stories

As an exploration geologist, I'm caught in a landslide during a mission, and one of my arms is crushed. Before we set out, our exploration team has accurately predicted the weather. There's no chance of heavy rain that day. It isn't until I overhear my wife, Diana Nelson, talking to a doctor friend that I learn the truth. "Diana, you knew Adam was going out on a mission that day, yet you spent a fortune on creating cloud seeding just to get him injured and eventually cost him an arm. You really went too far for Flynn." Diana frowns. "Who told him to care so much about that exploration project? The only way the project can go to Flynn is if Adam gets disabled. "Otherwise, Flynn will be s

the man turned around and left. Richard Hill's eyes narrowed with coldness as he stared at the computer screen in front of him. Outside, the rain began to fall heavily, accompanied by a loud thunderclap that shook the windows. The night seemed even more melancholic with the sound of raindrops tapping against the glass and the occasional flash of lightning illuminating the room. Despite the somber atmosphere, Richard continued to work diligently, undeterred by the stormy weather.

The bottle was still more than half full. My father froze, as if struck by lightning. His shaking hands lifted the bottle. He stared at the label. City Central Hospital Psychiatry Department Patient: Rainie Somerset "That's impossible," he whispered hoarsely. "Rainie was healthy…" "Healthy?" The officer let out a short, bitter laugh. "Mr. Somerset, when your daughter died she weighed only 82 pounds. That qualifies as severe malnutrition. She had self-harm marks on her wrists and large areas of old bruising on her back."

Chapter 1: Nothing to Lose The rain never stopped in Santa Cruz that fall. It came down in sheets, like the sky was trying to wash the whole town into the Pacific. I didn’t mind. Rain hid things—bruises, tears, the way my hands shook when the hunger got bad. I’d been sleeping in the shell of an old cannery warehouse on the edge of the wharf for three weeks now. The roof leaked in interesting patterns, and the concrete floor stayed cold enough to keep the nightmares at bay most nights.

Rain hammered the rusted roof above the abandoned loading dock, beating against steel and broken concrete with the relentless rhythm of war drums. The black sedan idled at the far end of the harbor road, headlights cutting through the downpour in two pale knives of light. The man standing beside the open rear door did not move. His coat darkened with rain, but his smile remained perfectly calm, as if he had not just walked into a battlefield and politely asked for Elena Hart like she was a dinner guest.

His lips bursted from the impact of my hit on his lips but still the smiling look never leaves his face but then he dosent hit me back he knows damn well never to try that. Before he can finished his words, I turn away from him. Jeff tried to run towards me from the car but I stretched my hands that’s him making him halt had my eyes scanned the area. Ignoring the raging beast in my heart asking me if I was insane I step into the rain. My heart almost drops when I see the scene in front of me. Just by the side of the company Raina is all curled up, her long blonde hair is now scattered all over and her lips look ice cold from the rain.

CHAPTER TWO RAIN’S POV I was still standing when he got closer. That was the first problem. The second problem was that the man smelled so good I nearly forgot my own name. His cologne had no business doing that. It was calm, expensive, and rude. Like him. He stopped in front of me and looked at me for a second, not in a hard way. “Sit, Rain.” His voice was smooth enough to make me obey before my brain caught up. “Okay.”

JULIAN ST. CLAIR’S POV *Low lighting. Shadows cling to the bookshelves, stretching like secrets. Rain whispers against the tall windows. The storm outside is gentle — almost tender. I sunk my bottocks in my chair, alone at my desk, a half-empty glass of whiskey in my hand. A bottle of something old and expensive rests beside me.*

The man was terrifying at what he could uncover when he wanted to. "Lumen!" a woman cried out. Lumen jumped and jerked her head up. Rain stood all of two steps away, one arm up in the air as if Lumen wouldn't be able to see her at such a close distance. "Hey, how are you?" Rain asked. What was this act? "Hey, fine." Lumen pocketed her phone. Rain looped her arm through Lumen's. "Got plans? No? Good. I'm stealing you." "Uh, stealing me?" Rain hauled Lumen through the crowd. "Where are we going?"
