Rachel’s cheerfulness didn’t dim. “Okay, new plan!” she declared, pulling out a small, colorful pouch from her bag. “Mini makeovers! But just, like, fun stuff. I have this nail polish that changes color in the sun! And another one that glows in the dark! It’s completely pointless but also completely awesome.”
She held up a tiny bottle of shimmering purple liquid. “What do you say? A little bit of sparkle to combat all this intensity?” She wiggled her own brightly painted fingers. “It’s, like, a scientifically proven mood booster. Probably.”
