Maddox's POV: I cut the engine and jumped out of the jeep, fishing my phone from my pocket. Not wanting distractions while I was buried in pleasure, I’d turned it off before entering Iliana's apartment last night. While making my way into the pack house, I pressed the power button. The moment it turned on, it started buzzing in my hand with dozens of notifications. Frowning at the screen, I noticed text messages as well as phone calls from Eldric, Caleb, and Aiden. My footsteps quickened as I wondered what could have been the emergency for them to bombard my phone with so many calls and texts.

Just once. I shove it down hard. Later, I find Arin near the edge of the inner fence, throwing stones and laughing to himself. My chest tightens for a different reason. “Arin,” I say. He turns, grin wide. Too wide. Too familiar. “Yes, Mama.” “Come here.” He jogs over. “I was not crossing.” “I know,” I say, crouching in front of him. “But you do not go near the boundaries anymore.” His smile fades. “Why?”

I took a deep breath and released it slowly. "Do you know someone who works at the entertainment club?" I asked. I saw she was lost for a second and it seemed her body got tense. She shook her head. "No..." she shortly replied. She reached for a glass of water and drank it straight. She looked really tense. "There is someone who works at the entertainment club who lives in your village," I opened up and started eating again. "Do you know someone named Magda? She's a good friend of mine," I asked and glanced in her direction.

The tiny, human voice that had been nagging at the back of my head was screaming at me now. Telling me that I would regret this... I would regret all of this tomorrow morning. Except, I didn't have to wait for tomorrow morning. My door suddenly barged open and Maddie skipped in happily holding a bowl of popcorn in one hand and her laptop in her other hand. "Mr Winstonnnnn!" She announced, "I think this will help you get b–" She stopped, finally walking into my line of vision. I pushed Anna off of me... But it was already too late.

she said "Which makes it more scarier," Mason said and yawned digging his head into his pillow. "Come on, don't do this to me" Madison pouted, sad her brother wasn't in support of her decision. "I don't know Madison..." Mason said not sure. "Cassie is coming" Madison quickly added. Mason caused and then raised his head to look up at his sister. "That's a lie, her parents would not allow her" he replied "Her mum is one of the committees planning this, so tell me more?" Madison rolled her eyes at her brother. Mason swallowed hard at the name of Cassie. He knew Madison did that deliberately to convince him to come, but he really did want to be around Cassie all the time.

Her voice was slightly shaky, then her eyes drifted to Sheila’s bed, “And I think you have a serious problem here.” My mind froze when I heard her name. Cordelia Blackwell was a well-known name in our world. Everyone knew her, they steered away from her, even witches. A dark witch for a mate. The thought made me erupt into laughter; I knew I must have looked like a mad man. The Mood Goddess really knew how to find my match. I shook my head, and after calming down I ambled towards her. I knew I was in her personal space, when she tried to step back slightly. Being this close to her, I could feel sparks between us, something was cackling.

Unlocking her mobile, she types her reply, Heer: Yes, I'm still here. What happened? She puts her mobile on her lap and looks at her front. Her friends still circle the dance floor while dancing passionately. Sanam: Nothing, I just wanted to know. Can I come to pick you up? She frowned but then she didn't find it uncomfortable anywhere. She was about to type her reply when suddenly a deep voice interrupted her, "Hey." She raised her head up to look at the person. Ryder! One of her college friends.

It was a familiar soft and gentle voice so I didn't hesitate to turn around. There, I saw the most unexpected person to see at this moment. What the... I stared at the man from the shadows. "Jordan..." I saw Jordan walking towards my spot with with a phone in his hands. I think he came from trees behind me.. How long have he was standing there? "Hey... Maddie." He awkwardly smiled while scratching the back of his head. "What are you doing here?"

I’m being kept in the dark. Footsteps approach me, and someone sits down next to me, matching my posture with their knees up and arms resting on them. I look to my side, and Maddie sits there, a fading bruise on her cheek from the fight with the rogues, and her hair damp from a shower. “Why so glum?” she asks. I sigh and lean my head back against the wall. “Taryn’s probably going to reject me.”

After failing to find me, Nicholas Jennings said grimly, "Astrid Rhode, I don't have time to play games with you. You haven't answered your phone or contacted me in four years. How long do you still want to hide? Maddie has just won the Best Actress award and cannot allow such groundless rumors to ruin her reputation. The window of opportunity for managing this PR crisis is closing fast. You must come out immediately to clarify that it's you in the video!"
