I didn’t even blink. Eleanor set the glass down and leaned closer over the table. “She vanished,” she whispered. “Not long after their divorce was finalized. Everyone says she moved abroad. But no one really knows. No forwarding address. No friends. Not even her parents have heard from her since. You still think you’re special?” Something inside my chest cracked, just a little. I remembered Big Joe’s warning, his eyes scanning the crowd, his voice low when he told me that Rowen had a trail of heartbreak behind him. I hadn’t thought much of it then.

Julian's team is scattered around the perimeter—a man with a dog, pretending to read a book; a woman on a bench, her face hidden behind sunglasses; a jogger who loops the same path again and again, never tired. Hikes, board games, hot chocolate... maybe even midnight pancakes if you’re lucky.” Pearl blinked, unconvinced. “Then why didn’t Mom come?” Eleanor hesitated, turning to face her. “Because she’s working on something important. Something that only she can do. But she promised me and you that this is just for a little while. A special adventure… like spies on a mission.”

There was only one hour left before my surgery would start, yet all I could do was sit on the hospital bed and stare at a thick stack of payment bills in silent distress. My phone vibrated beside me. With a reassuring smile, she turned and left them alone in the living room. Eleanor hesitated for a moment, then settled into a chair on the couch, her gaze fixed on Niro as he followed suit, taking a seat opposite her. He carefully placed a paper bag he had been carrying on the small table between them. "I think this belongs to you," he began, his voice gentle and reassuring. Eleanor slowly reached out and took the paper bag, peering inside. Her eyes widened with recognition as she saw her gold pouch nestled within. "Your phone was in there," he added, his gaze meeting hers with a warm intensity.

It was domestic and strange and nothing like the war she had planned for the morning. ‎Eleanor emerged twenty minutes later wearing sweatpants and an oversized hoodie that had Vale Industries printed on the sleeve. She had washed her face. There was eyeliner smudged beneath her eyes. ‎"Pancakes?" she said. ‎"Sit," Lucian said. ‎Eleanor sat on the stool next to Aurora. She didn't look at her brother. She looked at Aurora. "So how did you meet?" ‎"Charity event," Aurora said. ‎"Did he talk about himself the whole time?"

she inquired, a note of curiosity infusing her words. The girl, her demeanor poised yet humble, offered a simple yet enigmatic response. "Jane Doe," she replied, her voice soft yet resolute, a hint of mystery lingering in her gaze. Aurora held her laughter. Jane Doe? It meant nameless! The girl was both faceless and nameless!! She cleared her throat to curb her laughter and took Jane Doe inside. _____ NEXT DAY Eleanor had packed her luggage. Today they were driving back to the city. She had dumped everything inside except the leather jacket which Kayden gifted her.. the one she wore on their motorbike ride.

Her hair was silver, and she was holding a heavy, leather-bound book. It was Eleanor Wolfe. She wasn't looking at Ethan. She was looking at me. And she was smiling. It was morning already and the day is bright, and just like King Spencer promised Asher; they were gonna go to the amusement park today. "Why do I feel like something wrong is gonna happen today," Eleanor says, she was sitting in the large seat which was situated in front of the dressing mirror. Meanwhile, Amaya and Willow are standing behind her as they were now helping her out with her hair and styling it beautifully. "You have absolutely nothing to worry about," Amaya says, she was nearly done with Eleanor's hair.
