Novel & Cerita Random Page Of A Book

I shake my head, waving the thoughts away to concentrate but they keep crawling back. I flip to a new page to get this done with but surprisingly it's blank. My brows pull. That's odd. A blank page in the middle of a book. I had found it weird that the book was without a title when I picked it absentmindedly. I bring the book forward to my face, squinting my eyes to see if there's any secret message but there is nothing. I guess it's useless. I exhale loudly and make to snap the book shut but the sharp end prick my finger.

“Now, begin.” I licked my lips and turned over the pages, running my eyes over the content as fast and precisely as I could. He impatiently tapped his feet while I read. The timer on his phone went off. He snatched the book from my hand and turned it over to a random page. “Read out the entire page sixty-nine,” he said, leafing through the pages. Keeping my eyes fixed on his eyes, I began.

I whisper to myself. I dig through drawers and closets, even suitcases. Nothing, I find not a single thing. I stare in defeat at a built-in bookshelf. I scan the books, wondering if he owns all of them or if they came with the room. An unwelcome urge draws me to one in particular. Unable to tear myself away from it, I remove it from the shelf. I rub my fingers over the soft leather binding, fanning out the yellowed pages before opening it to the first page. The title page reads The Travors Bloodline.

Not to prosecute them but to aid their ability and enhance their magic, I made a few notes in my note book to remember them and to try them out one day. Eventually I get to the page that was highlighted by the Goddess, still confused why she pointed it out, I noticed that the page was thicker than the rest. I turned the torch on my phone and investigated the page, nothing looked different but then I turned the book to look at the bottom of the page and noticed there was a small gap. Almost like there were two pages stuck together, I try to pull them apart with my fingers but I was worried about ripping the page and having to pay to replace the book in the library.
