He leaned closer and whispered in her ear, “You see, you are my most valuable prize. Instead of killing you immediately, I am going to use you to get money from Alpha George. He will pay anything to get you back. Anything.” Nora glared at him, trying to spit out the chips. Her eyes were like cold stones as she looked at him. She managed to say, “You don’t have to involve George. If you are doing this for money, I will give you all my savings from working as a forensic photographer. Just let me go.” Thomas laughed, the usual annoying sound that made her ears bleed. “I don’t want your money, I know you have been saving it for your precious sons.” He remarked. “They should at least have somethi

Thomas yelled, his back hitting the wooden post of the fence as he looked around at the white-furred warriors surrounding him. "You are not going to speak to Riley because he is resting upstairs after saving his uncle's life, so you are going to answer my questions right now or I will let Silas's men handle you," I said, flipping my right dagger in my hand and driving the tip straight through the radio casing, smashing the battery pack into small pieces on the gravel. "You smashed my radio, you crazy woman, and Dante is going to kill all of us once his main squad finds out where we parked those trucks!" Thomas screamed, dropping to his knees on the gravel while his hands clutched his bruised

"Jax has her at a cabin near the river. Only he and two guards know the location." "Good," Cain said. "Make sure it stays that way." Elder Thomas came in holding a tablet and his face was grim. "We have a problem." "Another one," I muttered. "Nina's asking to go with you on the raid," Thomas said. "She says she knows the layout of Viktor's compound and can get you in through a back entrance that's not heavily guarded." "Absolutely not," Cain said. "We're not taking a potential traitor into hostile territory."

The people who had been following us all night, waiting for us to lead them exactly where they wanted us to go. The hollow had one way out. And it was now blocked by twelve armed wolves. "Mara." A voice echoed down from the ridge—male, amused, utterly confident. "I'm disappointed. After everything I did for you, this is how you repay me?" A figure stepped forward from the line of wolves. Tall. Broad-shouldered. A face I didn't recognize but Mara clearly did, because she went absolutely pale. "Thomas." "You were supposed to bring me the child." Thomas began descending the ridge, his men moving with him in perfect formation. "Instead, you bring me something better." His eyes found mine. "The w

The wind in the canyon made a hissing sound compressed into a knife of air by the ship's speed. Through the sparks flying from the ship's front, a wall of orange fire lit the canyon walls, she could not see the garrison she had left behind. Cole, Jasmine, Leo and the wolves had disappeared into the white-out of the northern pass. There was the ship, the rock and the dark. Then the canyon went underground.

The Geography of the Ransom Ethan didn't respond with words. He looked at the "Primary Screen" floating in the center of the room. It showed the "Sub-Surface" hangar, where Thomas was strapped into a "Zero-Point" extraction chair. Two "Recovery Scouts" stood over him, their "Kinetic" rifles leveled at the boy’s "Neural-Nodes."

Ryan looked at him. Thomas had always been steady. Always waiting. Through Jake. Through Daniel. Through everything. “Thank you,” Ryan said softly. Thomas shrugged. “I’d burn the world before I let someone take you.” Chris smiled. “Let’s maybe not mention fire right after a criminal arrest.” But Ryan couldn’t help laughing a little. For the first time in months, the sound didn’t feel forced. That night, Ryan didn’t dream about Adrien. He didn’t dream about the library or the classroom or the feeling of being hunted.

Freeing herself from the rocky catch, she glanced upwards. Above her, another stone catch would give her the chance to swing her legs up to an upper ledge and from there, Teri could reach the topmost edge of the canyon and climb out, but if she missed, she’d tumble backwards, down the rough slope and directly into Johansen’s grasp. One glimpse behind her at the crazed doctor, his face screwed up in a furious scowl, erased any doubt. Leaping with all her might, she swung her bound hands and hooked herself over the stony outcrop.

“Aspen! Where are Davina and Derek?” “At the funeral. Davina is not to happy that you didn’t make it.” “There is no time for that I need to see her and Derek now.” I look at her and realize she has some wound Sher wolf is healing and Kale is not beside her. “Why what his going on? Where is Kale?” “Cedar and Joy were kidnapped by Thomas. They took Kale too” “What?” I leave Maliyah, I’ll try and find her later, and follow Katerina. Thomas and Alastor have finally made a move and it’s not one anyone was expecting. We need to get them back before he finds a way to change the future.

The patters of the rain rented her ears, and it was with great relief that she caught sight of the gruesome portraits on the wall. “There’s no lasting damage to Ms. Amira, Ms. Hera,” said Mr. Castro the moment he was back. He and Hera alone were in the room. The others were reluctant to leave, keen to hear what he’s going to say to Hera, but when Mr. Castro threatened them month-worth detention, they scampered out of the room before he could even count.
