As I placed it upon Anja’s head, her eyes closed for a moment, allowing the crown’s power to fill her veins.

He smirked before removing a ring from his pocket. "Do you recognise this ring, Princess?" he asked. Valerie gasped with shock. She remembered the ring. It's the black opal ring which is similar to the pendant she is wearing. Raphael wears it. She never saw him removing that ring. It is the symbol of a Raven clan royal. Irina and Cadmus also has similar kind of rings. Each ring has the name of the person engraved on the underside of the ring. She snatched the ring and looked at the underside of the ring for the name.

I find a beer and the guys who got suckered into being here huddled around a football game on television. When she screams, I know she's seen it. Everyone stops what they're doing to look at her as she comes sliding across the floor before jumping into my arms with her legs around my waist. She shows me the ring, as if I didn't pick it out. The center stone is almost two carats, surrounded by a ring of tiny stones and encased on the sides in the same stones. "It's a crown!" she yells, although I suspect only Claire and I would really see it.

Granny stretched out the ring to Arnou, and he took it from her. Arnou held my hand in his and gently pushed the ring unto my outstretched finger. The ring was a perfect fit. It was sister to the crown of starlight I had seen in the jewel room. It had a sea blue diamond fitted in its center. Next granny offered me a ring. It was a crystal band, made to go with the ring on my finger. My hand was shaking so badly, and somewhere in the back of my mind, I was scared that I would accidentally drop the ring.

The crowns were beautiful; they were the same; there was no difference between the crowns. The crowns were also unique; everyone’s crown was either gold or silver, but this one was gold with rubies, emeralds, and lovely-looking gemstones on it. The crown was elegant and powerful. The majority had chosen, placing the crowns on our heads and giving us an incredible weight of responsibilities… I drew a deep breath as I took one final glance in the mirror. I was wearing a long white dress with golden threads. A white velvet cloak, trimmed with fur, rested on my shoulders. I had a necklace with a tear-shaped pearl and matching earrings, but the heaviest piece of jewelry rested on my head. My crown resembled tangled golden and silver thorns with little buds where pearls bloomed. A similar crown was made for Kaan, but his was made of silver and black steel, with black pearls instead of white.

Speaking of that, my crown was also on the table, and I noticed immediately that it also got an upgrade like my dress. “wait why does my crown look different?” I ask as I walk over and run my finger over the jewels. “Mrs. Jillson insisted when I took them all to get polished and tightened.” my mother tells me. My crown was gorgeous, but it was the simplicity of it that made me love it. It was white gold, wrapped around itself in intricate tangles. Before it had one stone in the main center. But now I saw that there were two more stones. One on each side of it that were smaller. And it only took me a moment to decipher that they were mine and Ryn’s birth stones.
