This life again
It ends up happening anyway; he catches me by my arms, and steadies me, an alarmed expression on his face.
"What's wrong? What happened to you?" he asks, smoothing my hair from my face.
His touch feels cold against my scalded skin, and I reach for his other hand, placing it on the other side of my face.
And then I remember who he is.
"Death, death, come to take me away. Why not instead you let me stay? Would you like to have one last dance? Come on Death, just give me a chance." I sing, swaying to the words, placing Death's hands on my shoulders.
