Chapter 29: Riding into Hell The hell rift tore open the eastern sky like a wound that refused to clot. Raven felt it before she saw it—a deep, unnatural vibration rolling through the earth, up through the black stallion’s hooves and into her bones. The air tasted of sulfur and scorched iron; the horizon bled crimson where the Widow’s Veil should have been quiet under dawn mist. Instead, a jagged vertical tear pulsed there, thirty feet high, edges flickering with molten light. Shapes moved on the other side—hulking silhouettes with too many limbs, eyes like furnace coals, war-hounds with jaws that dripped black flame.

What the hell? Naraja was beginning to feel weird, his head was starting to pound over and over to the point he wanted to claw the pain out, but couldn’t. He could feel his heart beginning to palpitate at an abnormal rate to the point his ears were ringing. He couldn’t focus on what was in front of him anymore. All he could hear right now were loud voices booming inside his head, but couldn’t distinguish between the voices, but they sounded familiar. In Mount Kpamos Helena, locked in Robos’ dungeon struggled to breathe. Her wounds were not healing quick enough and this was because Robos had applied the Mekai, a golden liquid substance that was known to kill gods if it was stabbed into their hearts. But he had only applied a small amount to her injuries making it impossible to heal quickly, it was his demented way of punishing her. She squeezed her eyes in pain as the broken bones of her wrists merged slowly. Tears fell down her cheeks but her heart and mind was set; she would not reveal the whereabouts of her children. If they were destined to destroy the gods then she’ll happily die in the hands of her children so long as they lived. He

She told him. The Void. A lower level in the Nine Hells dedicated to the imprisonment of Humans, Fae, Werewolves, and the like. They layered the cavernous Hell with a cave system so deep that many would lose their way if not properly guided. The deeper down the caves go, the worser the prisoners are. Zalakai sped up as he followed the winding passages through the lower level. Rayleigh not too far behind him. The screeches of Scouts overhead caused Rayleigh to stay close to him. After the previous encounter with them, she knew not to stray too far from his safety.

The force grew stronger, the earth cracking open with a deafening roar. In the midst of this cataclysm, Dryzza felt the raw power surging, a malevolent force seeking to consume everything in its path. The bond between Dryzza and Joline wavered, strained by the overwhelming chao as if Dryzza's been drawn out of Joline's consciousness. Suddenly, darkness enveloped her, accompanied by the chilling resonance of a sinister laugh emanating from a demonic presence looming directly before her. Dryzza attempted to blink away the obscurity, straining to discern the form of the creature, yet her efforts were futile.

I asked Lilith as she stood in front of me. I wasn't sure why I was so mad at Della but it had to do with the fact that she trusted those fucking mutt Rogues. Maybe my father was right. They were all just the same in the end. Della chose to go with them and understand them. I supposed that my anger was directed more at my past. When Hailey died, she didn't just die. She was brought forward by other members of the pack as being traitorous when a few of our werewolves were being targeted by the Rogues.

So instead, this gives us the perfect opportunity to make our move and seize Throne City. Iridessa bowed. "Vance, you're right. I've learned much from you." Suddenly, a massive golden pillar of light descended from the sky, slamming down in front of Throne City. Vance was a martial god, and even from 100 miles away, he could still see the situation clearly. "Arya!" He froze for a moment, then erupted in wild joy. "Iridessa, have all our people move out now! Heaven is on our side. That bastard Andrew has been intercepted by Arya right before the battle!

The city was deceptively calm. Natalie Evans stood on the rooftop of Phoenix HQ as twilight bled into the horizon. The battles they’d won against Orbis in the last seventy-two hours were hard-earned. Three shadow nodes terminated. The original construct silenced. Systems scrubbed. Firewalls reinforced. Yet deep in her chest, a low hum of dread still lingered. Victory had never felt so fragile.
