I offered them a curt smile, sharp enough to cut glass, then turned to the priest, refusing to let my gaze so much as graze Maverick.
“Shall I speak?” I asked quietly.
“W-well, of course you can,” the priest stammered.
I drew in a breath. “Six months ago, my baby was swapped at birth with Bianca—the bride’s—baby. This entire wedding is standing on a lie, built on the belief that the child she carries is his.” I gestured toward Maverick without looking at him. Color drained from Bianca’s face. “So why should this wedding hold when the child isn’t even with the right mother?”
