So I Married An Arrogant Boss

So I Married An Arrogant Boss

"Mr. Nicolas is a typical perfectionist." "Ah, so you're saying he's not a bad person?" asked Marry. "I mean, yes, he's not a bad person. He's jus t... I don't know ... He's more of a realist?" "How is a realist different from a bad person?" "Well, a realist just wants to live a decent life, so he's not motivated to be bad, I guess? But at the same time, he doesn't mind sacrificing others." "But isn't that what happens when you run a company?" asked Marry. "I mean, people are like resources, right? You have to utilize them."

The Carrero Contract (series book 3)

The Carrero Contract (series book 3)

A man who would kill or die to protect you. Can she not see how huge that is? The sort of soul who sacrifices himself for those he loves. A man who has killed for me and stood in the way of any harm coming at me from the moment I met him. Alexi is my hero, maybe not the fairy-tale version on a white horse and gallant armour. He is more of the dark variety and scarier than the devil, but he would never let anyone hurt a hair on my head and now I realise I’ve always known it. It’s why I fell in love with him, even when I had no reason to.

Bloody Full Moon

Bloody Full Moon

There's no place for it in my life. Also, hearing the other's thoughts takes all the magic out of love. That's why I've restricted any romantic pursuits to the formatted, black-and-white pages of books. There's one universal truth I'll never question: fictional men are a gazillion times better than real ones. The real problem is that Paul definitely resembles a main character. Well, when he snarls and looks at me like this, more like the main antagonist, that would suit him better. Even if he sometimes seems like a nice guy, I'll certainly not make him my hero.

The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Frank replied, more or less nice in private. "No way!" Ida shook her head. "I think I'll call you Lugh." "If you say so!" Frank shrugged nonchalantly. Ida then smiled. "I'll be frank—if I hadn't seen you in action yesterday, I would really have trouble connecting you to the godly being yesterday!" Rain suddenly said, "The real heroes don't disguise themselves that much and simply make do by staying in the city. That way, they appear to just be a normal person, no more than a face in the crowd! You know… like Mr. Miyagi!"

Renata's Dream

Renata's Dream

“They might really care about your father, but do remember that there are rulers who cared for his men because of power, or fame, or even something they’re obsessed about. But once he stopped gaining benefits from his men and got what he wanted, he’ll surely throw them straight into hell with no mercy left in his heart.” Yner’s eyes were teary when he gazed at Renata. “But . . . they said that my father is a hero. Tell me, Renata, is he really a hero? If they don’t care about my father, it’s alright. I just want to know if he’s a real hero. Is he?” Revi looked at him emotionlessly. “Call him a hero if you want. I won’t stop you, but you can’t also stop me from seeing you, your family, and yo

The Hero King

The Hero King

"It's their strength. The first requirement of being a hero isn’t being right. It’s being strong. That’s why the hero always wins.” "As crude as it may be to say that, what made your father a hero wasn't his lofty but naive ideal, neither was it his gentleness. But it was his strength. No matter what, no matter how, there was only one truth. Your father was the strongest and as such he was the representative of Justice. This is the sad truth of this world."

The Magnetic Alpha

The Magnetic Alpha

My daughter rushed to embrace her brother emotionally and I finally could not stop that tears as I watched my children embrace each other warmly in comfort. Knowing there is no way I can stop the dam, I moved a few steps away to stare blankly at the wall as the tears poured rapidly down my face. I felt the silent figure behind me even before he said a word. “A hero is a woman who will do anything to love and protect her kids, but a much better hero is a responsible, loyal man who will love and cherish his woman and their kids. And above all, protect and possess his woman in every sense of the word.” He enlightened softly and I waited to hear the mockery behind his voice but there was nothing

The Hybrid Daughter

The Hybrid Daughter

“You should not feel ‘safe’ with me Molly, just because I saved you, just because we may have history, does not make me the good guy. I saved you because I know we were meant to be together, and I care about you. I am not a hero in your story. I will drop you at home, and I will wait for you until you are ready to be with me at Cambridge. I need to let you go. You are too innocent right now for me.” “Why do you keep saying that you’re not safe?” “I’m not” “Henry, you are a hero, you saved me from those goons.” “Molly, you saw me slaughter them, I ripped apart their bodies in front of you, do not act like I am some hero. A hero would have knocked them out and called the authorities. You know

Hello my beautiful readers, I apologize for it being so long, I haven’t had very much time to write. I will do my best to update as best as I can. For those of you who have read “The beloved” there’s a little spoiler in this chapter, the villain in book 2 of the Beloved, coming this summer.

I sincerely apologize and please know I already emailed my new editor and I'm hoping they can open it back up for me and I will make sure that it's completely finished this time. I did send in the entire completed book to my previous editor and I don't know why it was marked completed when it's not.

The Protégé

The Protégé

"Grandpa, what are you talking about? I don't like this guy. The ideal candidate in my heart is not a cowardly wretch." "My target is a man of indomitable spirit. Only the nameless hero who saved people in the old city district some time ago is the real hero. It's a pity that the nameless hero didn't reveal his name. Only such a hot-blooded man would be my man of love!" Bai Yujing said with longing. The nameless hero who saved people in the sea of fire? Seeing Bai Yujing's face full of hope, Yang Xiao's body suddenly stiffened.

I get the holidays are here and it can make things a little hectic. But all the more reason to try and get those chapters out ahead of time as we all would like to continue reading. However at this rate it seems you may lose followers of the book and the money you get by them supporting your novel.

Knocked Up By My Brother’s Best Friend

Knocked Up By My Brother’s Best Friend

I wanted to make it easier on her, but interfering would just make it worse if the way Ryan reacted to my defending her at the bar was any indication. At the very base of all that was the fact I wanted to save her. It went with the fireman thing—I had a hero complex or something. I wanted to protect and rescue. In my eyes, it’s what a real man did. He didn’t tear people down like Ryan or use them up. That’s nothing but weakness and greed from where I was standing.

The thing that grabs me about these characters isn't just their pragmatism—it’s their terrifying competence in a world that wasn’t built for it. You get someone dumped into a medieval kingdom, and instead of swinging a magic sword, they’re thinking about crop rotation, sewage systems, and basic economics. In 'The Beginning After the End', Arthur’s second life is fueled by this deliberate, almost cold application of past-life knowledge to magical problems. It’s satisfying because it feels earned; the tension comes from watching someone solve a dragon-level threat with logistics and a half-decent militia.

Where it falls apart for me is when the 'realism' slides into cynicism. Some stories mistake being harsh for being smart, and the hero just becomes a smug know-it-all who never really struggles. The standout ones, though, maintain a core of vulnerability. They’re not emotionless—they’re just using a different toolkit. It makes the fantasy elements they eventually engage with feel weightier, because you’ve seen the groundwork they’ve laid without magic. That shift from ledger books to battlefields is what sells the whole premise.
