His Book club

His Book club

When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

Echoes of the Pack

Echoes of the Pack

"Alora, I need your help with something." "Here we go!" Anne-Marie returns to me with the book, "I found something related to the area's history. It's primarily a summary of tribal tales and geography, written in a rather textbook-like style. But it's an excellent source for finding similar books on the subject. All their sources and additional information are provided in the footnotes, and there's also a 'further reading' section." I accept the book and try to ignore Laurel's inquisitive expression, "Can I borrow it?"

It's a good book as far as I have read so far. I'm getting discouraged, though. I'm running out of patience and time for these types of stories. "Neverending" stories where some chapters repeat themselves for some reason or other drives me bunkers. Just saying. I prefer shorter stories.

Cultivation with a System in the Modern World

Cultivation with a System in the Modern World

The System began scanning the rows of scrolls and books, its internal mechanisms whirring as it processed the vast amount of information. After a moment, the System’s interface lit up, and a small holographic display appeared, pointing to a particular book on a high shelf. Danial’s eyes followed the display, landing on a tome with a cover adorned with intricate silver patterns. The title, written in elegant script, was "Ethereal Barrier Technique."
