Sirella’s POV The night was a tapestry of shadows and shifting light, a realm where every secret felt exposed yet cloaked in darkness. I stepped lightly through the damp corridors of the palace, my heart still pounding from the echo of Damien’s kiss—a kiss that had been both a promise and a threat, leaving me trembling in its wake. The cool air carried the scent of rain and old stone, mingling with the faint trace of his musk. Remi gently called my name before opening the door and I heard him greet my dad like they were old friends and hadn't met that morning mid walk of shame. "Joe," Remi said respectfully as he shook his hand. I was walking out of the backroom and could see their hands extended. My eyes met my sister's as she walked in around my dad, eyes big to see who on earth was in my home no doubt. Apparently dad had told her about being a wolf, but not about my mate.

I’ve been waiting for my true bond to reveal itself. And now she has.” Saeris could hardly breathe. Liar. Her soul screamed it even if her lips wouldn’t. Gemma’s smile stretched too wide and perfect. And just before she turned to face the crowd again, Saeris caught it. That flicker, just for her. A sharp gleam of triumph. A smirk.

Yes, how…” I interrupted, “Nice to meet you, I am Remus.” Her eyes watered, and if I was feeling angry for myself, now I was feeling sorry for her. She was devastated.
