he said, turning back to her, who beamed cutely. "It's fine. Anything for you." He walked back to her and made a promise. "If there's any way I can repay this favor, let me know. I'll try my best." Her smile brightened, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Okay, I didn't help you, so you can repay the favour. I did it because it makes me happy," she said, her voice filled with excitement. "But since you want to return it, give me your number so I can reach out to you."

The Repayment

The Repayment

That person, of course, was Amy. I shook as I opened my laptop and looked up Adam's financial history. He owned a fur trading business called ‘Moon's Embrace’ up in the snowy north. Every single gift he had ever given me—the pendant with a wolf's tooth, the bracelet made of vines, and the cloak of wolf fur—was listed as part of his company's inventory. I used to think those gifts were special and just for me. That was until I peeked at Amy's social media and saw fancier versions of everything he had ever given me.

“My men came up to me, told me that you gave them a helpful tip. I guess you can say that I’m a man who doesn’t like being in debt. So, I’ll return the favor just this once, make us even, so to say,” he said grimly. “What are you talking about?”

I found myself chuckling, which hurt, but I couldn’t help it. “What’s so funny?” she asked defensively. “Nothing. I’d have been pissed too. But now he owes me.” “Yeah? And how exactly do you expect him to repay the favor?” I opened my eyes and rolled my head to look over at her. “By staying the fuck away from me for good.”

Until a moment later that she realized the man had gone silent. Thinking about it for a moment, she said to him, "What can I do to repay you?" "Repay me?" The corner of his lips curled, and an inexplicable smile appeared. "As long as it's not outrageous and still within my means." She added, despising that evil smile a little. "I don't like owing favors." "It's just a small favor. Don't be so rigid." He chuckled pleasantly. "Well…" She still stared at him. "Tell me your name."

"I'll pay you back." "You don't have to; we're childhood friends. I'd do anything for you." "But you need the money to pay off your student loans; I insist I'll pay you back." Jack let out a soft, resigned laugh. "You can't help it, can you? You don't like receiving help. Alright, kiddo, see you when I see you. Bye." "Thank you, Jack. I appreciate you so much. I promise I'll pay you back." "Okay then," Jack said as he ended the call.

The Billionaire's Redemption: Chasing Her Back

“I just want to, huh, say thanks for helping me that night,” “No,” he replied as he cast a glance at me. I narrowed my eyes. “No, what?“ “I don't accept just a thank you. You owe me a favor in return,” My eyes widened. “It doesn't work like that Ryan,” He shrugged. “I want it now. Nothing comes for free,” I sighed. “Fine, but there's an expiry date. After the new year, it's not valid,” He nodded. “Deal,” “And oh, I love it when you say my name. Call my name more often, I'll always answer you,”

Eva asked nervously, and I chuckled. "Why will you repay me? I didn't send the money to get repaid. You shouldn't worry about that," I replied calmly, but she refused. "Sir, I don't want to owe you. I want nothing to connect us. And let bygones be bygones. We are adults. So I want to repay you the money, first, the 16 million you paid Jacob Stone and the additional 5 million that you gave to my parents to forgive my mistake," she spoke softly, and I shut my eyes, listening to her voice.

THIS. BOOK. DESERVES. A. LOT. OF. VIEWS I admire the author's writing style because the story is well-written. You can easily go with the flow because there are no bothersome errors. The title is catchy and intriguing that makes you want to explore the story itself. Kudos to the author!
Frankie Nero.
Great read. I love how you took your time in character development. Its one of the things I admire in fiction. I also loved the fact that the clichés were minimised. I think I fell in love with Sofia at one point. She's the definition of woman power.
