He frowned, clearly not understanding that part. “Explain that,” he said.
“It means you’re going to step into that role,” I said. “You’re going to take responsibility, you’re going to be there, and you should be. I’m not saying you shouldn’t. But that comes with everything else, with her, with whatever history you both have, with decisions that don’t involve me.”
