Alex Goldman, one of the richest bachelors in Los Angeles, was known to throw the biggest, most extravagant parties in the city. Automatically, all the rich people were invited to his parties. Anyone who was a celebrity, a rich businessman, a smoking hot girl, or easily found on G****e for being famous, was allowed entry. This was Alex’s attempt at mimicking Jay Gatsby, from the movie The Great Gatsby, though he did not have a special girl that he waited for because every girl at the party was a potential one-night stand for him.

I murmured, staring down at my calculus worksheet. "You don't have to thank me for respecting you, Tamine," Evans said, his voice a low, steady anchor in the chaotic cafeteria. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a battered paperback copy of The Great Gatsby. The key fonts were crisp, the glow promising pages I’d only dared to dream of. The largest box held rare first editions of The Great Gatsby, Lolita, 1984—books I’d read in borrowed copies, from uninspiring editions or library dogs and mildew. Now they lay before me, pristine: rich mahogany leather, gold leafing on the spines. My breath caught in my chest; owning even one would’ve been impossible. Now I had three. I traced Gatsby’s title with trembling fingers, it felt like a betrayal or a blessing. Last came the envelope, heavy, thick lines beneath my name. I opened it, life slowing. Ink flowed in clear handwriting:

“Goodnight Aspen.” Aspen leaves with the book. It’ll be nice to have another friend. I don’t get to see Samantha much anymore so it’ll be nice to have Aspen around. He likes books like I do. I realized that he wasn’t reading the book but just staring at the pages considering how his eyes didn’t move along the lines and how he would not turn the pages over. “The Great Gatsby, what a book.” I awkwardly said. “You have read this book?” he asked with that terrifying frown still on his face. “Yes” I lied. I haven’t read the book but I have seen the movie “It was such a shame that a man like Gatsby had to die for a crime he didn’t commit.” I

We don't usually get to spend this much time together, just the two of us.” Justin came to Alexa and both had such an awesome converse as they shopped on "Justin, have you read 'The Great Gatsby'?" Alexa asked, holding up a copy of the book. Justin lifted eyes lit up. "Yeah, I love F. Scott Fitzgerald! What about you?" Alexa nodded enthusiastically. "Me too! I've read it like five times already." Justin chuckled to himself. As they walked through the mall, they stumbled upon a small music store. Louise's eyes widened as he gazed at the instruments on display.

Jenkins placed it beside the flowers. Finally, he presented a leather-bound book, 'The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and a delicate silver necklace with a tiny crystal pendant in the shape of a teardrop. These he arranged on the bedside table, completing the thoughtful gesture. The room was transformed into a serene oasis, filled with the gentle scent of flowers and the promise of comfort. Damien's eyes never left Seraphina, his gaze filled with an unsettling intensity, as he waited for her to awaken and discover his thoughtful gestures.

I mean with Ancient English and all, it all just seems boring. But reading “the great gatsby” is more interesting than I thought. I was deeply engrossed in the book when I felt a tap on my shoulder, I flinched and sprang my head up to meet the angry gaze of Na..Nathan? “Nathan? What are you doing here?” I was quite bewildered because Nathan is the last person to be seen in a library. Like most typical boys, He hates novels. “I knew I would find you here.” That makes more sense, he came for me.
