“Why ever not, shouldn’t a man have a name for their fiancé.” Clem lifted my fingers, “No ring, no fiancé.” He palmed his front pocket revealing the ring that I had now taken off twice. “It just needed a bit of polishing,” Clem’s laugh filled the room. “So being rejected is being called polishing now, I’ll have to remember that,” she swiped the ring from his fingers quickly, holding it under the light. “What are you doing?” Warren Astor seemed genuinely confused as Clem made the diamond catch the light in just the right places.

Brian said in irritation. “What son?” Brian’s abductor asked. “That… that son term… you can’t use that… I am not your son” Brian complained like a child. “Oh dear… you never change. I am glad you never change” Brian’s abductor chuckled in satisfaction. Brian’s abductor took Brian inside and untied his hands. “Why did you untie me?” Brian asked rubbing his sore hands. “Because I know you are going nowhere. You are hungry? I can make some sandwiches” Brian’s abductor was looking for something in the mess he calls kitchen.

He couldn’t hold back the sobs that racked his body, his grief pouring out in waves. “Wake up, Dad,” his voice was a broken whisper, a plea to the universe to rewind time, to undo the irreversible. “Please, wake up.” His words grew louder with each repetition, his voice cracking with the weight of his emotions. He shook his father’s lifeless form, as if by sheer willpower alone he could bring him back.

, suddenly all eyes focus on the center, where a blue-masked man stands in front of a microphone. "All believers, attention!", it becomes so silent that a pin wouldn't dare drop to interrupt it. In unity, we will reverse the New World!", he beamed, "Chant with me, my fellow believers, chant!", and with that I gasped so loud that if the blue-uniformed crowd had not been chanting, I would have been outed. Re-reverse the New World? Wh-what?!

The mother checked the progress of her daughter who was unpacking things in the room. Some boxes are open, and chaos in the room can be seen in various directions. "No mom." The girl looked around to confirm one by one the contents of the box that had been scrambled by herself. "I guess..." She faltered at the end, unsure if her memory might be wrong.
