The bookshelf had all sorts of books, ranging from fictional novels to nonfictional novels, to educational novels and textbooks. Her eyes caught titles like; The Redwall series by Brian Jacques, Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros and a lot more. Even the Encyclopedia was in his bookshelf. And there was also some novels on the basis of business and finance. The book the lad was currently reading was The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.

“You said you lost your parents. How were you able to scale through college on your own then? And why do you have an aversion to poor kids when you were once one?” She smirked this time. “Who ever said I was poor? My dad willed his estate to me. He was successful before he died, and his lawyer was faithful till he himself passed on. So I had no financial troubles. I helped your uncle out too, linked him to my dad’s friends. And as for the poor kids, I think you should avoid them as much as you can. If you were not family, I wouldn’t have wanted to have anything to do with you.”

Despite the circumstances we've found ourselves in, I love my Dad very much, I usually heed to his advice because he has never failed me nor led me astray but this time around, looks like he's intentionally but innocently leading me astray.
