Strong air whipped within the throne room, clouds appeared in the ceiling, thunder crackled up in the air, and the whole of Orun Isu began to shake as the place recognized its new Matron. Boma and Alake were the first to kneel. “Matron!” they called. The other elders and everyone in Orun Isu joined a moment later, kneeling and shouting; “Matron!”

And this is not a luck story. People like to believe that men who rise from nothing do so because fate intervenes or opportunity appears at the right moment. Maybe that happens for some people. It didn’t happen for me. Instead, my beginnings were marked by betrayal—a family that should have been my foundation became my first battlefield. Before I understood or could describe it, I was fighting wars I never asked for. I was born into a lie. I didn’t know it yet.

Emely stepped onto the small stage, holding a microphone with practiced elegance. “Thank you for attending this blessed evening,” Emely’s voice echoed. “Today is not only about my son Dewangga’s engagement to Vanes, but also about welcoming the heir of the Nasution family. The baby boy she carries will prove that our family will continue to thrive beyond any slander.” Polite applause followed, though cynical whispers about Serena lingered in the corners of the room. Just as Emely was about to invite Dewangga to place the ring on Vanes’s finger, his phone vibrated.

Sometimes, happiness really is that simple. … Five years passed in the blink of an eye. I rose from an ordinary investment manager at Renaissance Capital to the position of Investment Director. None of it would have been possible without Anne's support. I still remember the global financial crisis last year. The market was in full panic, and many funds rushed to sell off even their best assets just to cut losses. "Don't follow the crowd," Anne said after analyzing the situation. Everyone turned against me. Isabelle, the leader of the demon hunters, called me in. She said she wanted to protect me, but even she couldn't guarantee her own safety. I looked up at her without fear and met her eyes straight on. "Once, werewolves and vampires oppressed us, so humans fought back. Now, men are oppressing us. Why don't you fight back too? Do you really think that if you give me up today, they'll just let it go?" I laughed coldly. "No, they won't. They'll only take more and more, eating away at the space women have to live. From that point of view, men are no different from werewolves or vampires."

However, this accident had actually happened in my life, and it had even taken place on my birthday. The overturned truck had fallen toward my parents' car along with the mountain of coal it was carrying. In an instant, my parents' small car had been crushed and buried under the coal.

She explains to me. "My name is Ragnar Stonemountian and i will accept your offer of help to get my revenage against the Nightshade line and anyone who stands against me."

Killi sighs and says, “You know what? I’m in. If the pack leaders don’t want to save the day on this one, then the three of us will just have to.” I grin and I look between the both of them. My teeth sink into my bottom lip as Riven gets to his feet, the muscles in his biceps flex as he presses his palms into the earth to steady himself. For once, I might have something more.
