Caitlyn’s POV The Moonborn Ruins were not what I expected. I had imagined crumbling stone walls, vines reclaiming ancient structures, a place long forgotten by time. But what lay before me was something else entirely. The ruins still stood, eerily intact, their stone foundations gleaming under the silver moonlight. The air hummed with power, charged with something ancient and restless, as if the past itself had been preserved here, waiting for someone to unravel its secrets.

The silk soaked up most of the stain, and what was left was a dim mark, blending into the fabric—hardly noticeable without direct lighting. It was a half-buried structure carved into the earth like the entrance to something far older than any kingdom. And surrounding it were rogues. Dozens of them. Their bodies moved unnaturally beneath the dim firelight, twisted by the same corruption we had seen all week. Ronan exhaled slowly beside me. “Well.” “That’s definitely not a small camp.” Rylan crouched low beside a tree. “They’ve built defenses around the ruins.”
