After Divorce: Ex-wife Never Turns Back
“Darling, we deserve this. After everything, we deserve to be celebrated. Don’t you agree?”
His eyes softened, and he nodded. “Of course, Maya.”
Charles clapped his hands together, directing our attention to the catering manager. “Chef Moretti will explain the menu.”
The chef, a tall Italian man with silver-streaked hair, stepped forward proudly. “We begin with cicchetti—small Venetian bites—polenta, grilled cuttlefish, crostini with whipped baccalà. For mains, your guests may choose between duck in orange glaze, osso buco, or Venetian-style sea bass. And for dessert, the pièce de résistance: tiramisu, candied fruits, and fritole, served alongside espresso and fine wines.”
