They all had the same story line, different settings, different characters, same guy gets the girl at the end of the book ending. Absolutely cliché. Dad says, "I remember all those times you'd come to me with all those big words."

It's either history, military, or supernatural romances. I've never understood why so many people preferred such kinds of novels and genres all that much. Though, I meant that for the latter part. They're basically the same every single time. An average lady meets one sexy, handsome, extraordinary man, or two hot males battle over her, and there's usually some ridiculous drama that brings her further and deeper together with the men, and then she has to choose the obvious decision. Everyone had predicted her decision since the very beginning of the chapter. "And they're usually sequels or fantasy epics," I mumbled to myself.

The rest of the class goes by in a blur, and I do my best to focus, but I’m way off my game. My mind is teeming, my body strangely energized, and I make a vow right then and there that I need to stop reading so many damn romance novels. I read one or two a day, fully immersed in the escapism it brings me, and I think they’re getting to my fucking head. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic, but it wasn’t until I hit my senior year in high school I discovered romance. I’ve been a complete addict ever since. But this obsession has not served me well, especially since my particular tastes these days are always the kinky variety involving handcuffs and safewords and dominants.

(Lancelot’s POV) The novel “The Love of My Life” is a story best suited for teenagers. That being said, some of the topics discussed in the novel weights heavily on romance compared to other elements, world building included. Because of that, the scale between the love interests’ life stories and others’ life stories tipped unfairly to the love interests’ side. Not like I have any problem with it when I read it. Because, I’ve read somewhere before that other than fantasy books with hellishly long storyline and particular world building, books which was written to suit the romance genre shouldn’t depict too much of characters’ other than the main characters’ life.

“Well, you know that you’re the one that he fantasizes about. That’s why he wouldn’t look at you.” Daniela smiled. “I know.” I stared at her, surprised. “And here I thought you were all innocent. Have you been doing something you shouldn’t be, Berni?” She rolled her eyes. “I’m a teenage girl. I read. Romance novels, fanfiction. If it’s got smut, I’m there.” I raised an eyebrow. “What about porn?” Daniela made a face. “No. Porn’s too awkward. I need a little fantasy. I can’t just watch stuff like that, you know.”

She blurted getting pissed up at how her dad was concluding everything. Gosh..she can't imagine being in love like seriously, that would be awkward, it would be weird and the feelings....the racing of the heart, the passion building in the eyes, the shivers when touched, those moan from deep kiss... Aghhrrr, they are all fallacy in her head, she had been reading many romance novels, she had read of all this, two couple falling in love, a rich boy and a poor girl building the feelings, becoming lovers, these were all weird to her because she can't fall in love...
