Romance Novels For Women Over 40 Novels & Stories

She thought this was cool. “I mean—wow,” she went on, bouncing slightly on her toes. “An age gap romance? Like a real one? Your dad really married someone younger? That’s… that’s honestly amazing! I read so many books with this trope. Secret romance, huge age gap, wealthy older guy, younger wife—ugh, one of my favorites. It’s so dramatic and intense! Sexy, even!” She wiggled her shoulders playfully. I forced a smile. “Yeah,” I said, my voice sounding distant even to me. “It’s… something.”

I turn around and take a look at those. "They don't feel the same anymore", I tell him. He immediately frowns in confusion. "So, you got bored with ROMANCE?" "No. But there's a reason", I say, leaning against the shelf and placing my palm over the books. Then I slowly trace my hand over them. "And the reason is—" he leans back too, a foot of distance between us but we can clearly hear each other whispering. "People who read romance, mostly women—" I giggle. "They want to escape reality. So, they can find more beautiful things in fiction"

In this case, he could only hold himself back and give her time to accept him slowly. They laid down on the bed, and he asked, "Do you girls like to read domineering CEO related novels?" "They're alright. I prefer reading ancient romance novels," Wrenna said. "Some of those domineering CEO romance novel titles are related to spoiling the girl, but in fact, they turn out to be heart-tormenting. I don't like to read those types of stories." Charles thought to himself, "Ancient romance novels? What the hell is that?"

Another page almost filled with their debt. After making a note, she turned her attention back to her show. It was about a woman kidnapped by a mafia boss. The man was obsessed with her and gave her one year to fall in love with him. Evangeline shook her head. If she were in the woman’s position, she would never fall for her kidnapper. She’d feel fear, not love. But she couldn’t help but feel envious of the lead character. She couldn’t even remember the last time she felt giddy over romance. It had been fifteen years since she and her ex-husband separated. She had forgotten what it was like to love and be loved.

I am not sure if I want to spend Christmas cold and lonely. Ervin and I met during the first group date that Naomi organized. There were five of us girls, and seven of them. Ervin stood out as he was lively, very funny, and the most attractive of the group. He's also tall, very fair and very articulate. He told us funny stories, and would engage me in conversations around politics, career, and sports. I never thought he would be interested, as he also engaged Mylene and Naomi in separate conversations. My friend Mylene is dark and very pretty. She worked at a construction firm and I met her through Naomi. When we were about to go home late that night, he announced to everyone he's driving me

"Exactly. If you can live to be 100, then you still have 50 years, which is enough for you to find yourself again. Why do you have to give up now?" "Recently, I've been interested in reading novels about powerful CEOs who fall in love with women in menopause. I have to say, they're very suitable for older people to read! No matter what age you are, you can still live a good life if you're independent and have your own charm!" "Your husband cheated, and you don't have a marriage certificate anyway. Why don't you just leave? If you stay, you'll just be his free housekeeper."

“I quite like Tristan. He’s a very handsome man. I was divorced recently, too. Very ugly affair. My ex-husband was a mess. He cheated on me multiple times, you know. He said that I was far too busy and he needed attention. I served it right to him and left his ass when I finally found the strength. I’ve been having one night stands since then.” The coffee starts to taste bitter. I never expected her to be this candid. “That’s… good news,” I say. “Um, so about the—” “It feels nice to be with younger men as an older woman,” she trudges on. “As women, we always get told that no one would want us past a certain age. We’re being treated like expired meat. But I don’t even have to announce who I a

Ellery said. “Spoken like a true rich person.” That earned her another head-turn, but Ellery's mouth wasn’t quite as sulky as usual. In fact, Cole would even have gone so far as to say her expression was amused. “How do you know this stuff?” Ellery asked. “Georgette Heyer. Obviously.” “Oh.” She couldn’t see Ellery's eyes, but her tone suggested they were rolling. “Romances.” “What’s wrong with romances? And don’t give me some line about them being trashy or patriarchal or always having the same plot

“Thanks for going to get it.” Feeling uncomfortable, he nodded. “The side effects are pretty awful, according to the box.” She shrugged as she swallowed it with orange juice. “I’m sure it can’t be that bad, and it’s a good idea to be certain. I’m too young for a baby, and you’re much too old,” she teased. “Let me show you how old I am, woman.” With a playful growl, he lifted her from behind the breakfast cart and carried her through to his room, where he made love to her with the vigor of a man half his age.

“What are these?” “They’re romance novels.” “They’re p**n, Nala. I’ve been alive long enough to know the difference.” She didn’t deny it. Instead, she just stood there with her arms crossed, waiting. I studied her face. In all the centuries I’d known this woman, I’d never once seen her read anything that wasn’t academic. Science journals and historical texts and research papers dry enough to cure insomnia. She had entire shelves dedicated to old human civilizations and herbal remedies and subjects so boring I fell asleep just looking at the spines.
