“I remember when you asked why I suddenly refused to marry Ryder after moving in with him and insisting that I wanted to marry him. That was because it was around that time that I started to believe my dreams. A few days before the wedding, I had three dreams, and all of them came to pass. One was about the dress Mrs Willow made me wear. Another was about an accident that happened during the ceremony. Claudia, Ryder's cousin, had purposely slipped and poured what she was carrying on me, right at the moment I was being asked my vows. It was after this particular dream came true that I realized my dreams were becoming reality.

Her words were cut short by a deafening explosion. Wayne slammed his fist against the wall until he crumpled to the floor, his cries tearing through the air. "Arden…" The flood of pain and regret drowned him completely. Only then did Wayne realize he might have fallen in love with Arden long ago. Naomi rushed in and, seeing his madness, tried to comfort him. "Wayne, don't panic. Maybe Arden recorded that earlier just to trick you. Maybe she's upset you came to my banquet, so she staged all this on purpose…"

I interjected, "That fire seven years ago was brutal, wasn't it? Saving him must've been strenuous. Any scars?" She rolled up her sleeve, revealing a faint mark on her arm. "Yeah, it left this. Not exactly pretty, but Damian means everything to me. I'd run through fire for him again in a heartbeat." I was stunned by her audacity. She'd go so far as to flaunt a fake scar to uphold her lie. "That blaze killed many people," I pressed. "You were just a middle-school kid, small and frail. How did you manage to drag him out of those flames?"

I confessed to Rami, "and find that all this was just a dream." He reached across the table and took my hand, his eyes locking with mine. "Then don't close your eyes," he said softly. "Just keep them on me. I promise you, I'll give you a life even more beautiful than any dream." His words sent a shiver down my spine. In that moment, looking into his eyes, I knew he meant it. And I believed him. The music from the restaurant drifted out onto the beach, a slow, romantic melody that seemed to beckon us.

Whenever Esther or Aunt Kitra read me stories of how the men were so in love and how they’d go the extra mile to make their women happy and feel so loved… The stories became so imaginative. Whenever I slept, I saw my faceless man be everything I read from the stories and more… Now, even though I hate to admit it, and my strong woman era is still very much active, I still have the dreams. It’s just—very detailed now. The faceless man has become Emmett— Very detailed. It’s not just the sweet parts in the dreams. I—whatever I saw him do with Sarah in his bathroom the other day—makes me replace Sarah in my dreams.

I don't know yet, maybe tonight will be my fairy tale and maybe tomorrow it will disappear. The only thing I know is that I want to live a life next to him, without knowing what will happen tomorrow, I just want to live day by day next to him.

My feelings for Ryan were complex, and I needed time to sort through them. With that understanding, I focused on steadying my racing heart and the flurry of emotions that threatened to consume me. I breathed in his scent, a blend of woods and a hint of musk that was uniquely his. As the warmth of sleep beckoned me, I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift into slumber. As my dreams danced with shadows of longing, It was as if my wolf had stirred from her slumber and was reaching out to me. I stand up from the couch and walk to my restroom. "Alright, I'll meet you downstairs." She says, walking to the door. My reflection in the bathroom mirror glares out at me. I've lost count of how many times I've had those dreams. Since he kicked me out of his house two weeks ago, it's been nearly every time I close my eyes. I know why it's happening, but I don't want to admit it. The worst part is that I haven't heard from or seen him at all. Sometimes the dreams aren't even sexual. They're just plain, romantic dreams. It annoys the hell out of me. I am not supposed to be having those types of dreams. Yes, I'm attracted to him physically, but he broke my heart. I can understand the sexual d
