Challenging. Good. I reached up, brushing a strand of hair from her face, letting my fingers trail along her jaw. "You're not afraid of heights, are you?" She gave a soft laugh, but there was an edge to it. "Should I be?" I smiled. "Only if you fall." And I wasn't going to let her fall. Not yet. But when she did... I'd be the one to catch her. ~HARPER'S POV~ The rooftop was a world unto itself, suspended between the earth and the stars, where the hum of the city below felt like a distant memory.

If only they knew. Aidan stood on the roof of the Russian facility, his hands on the metal railings around the roof, staring down at the guards patrolling the entrance. The sheer twenty-foot tall height would have made any other person feel dizzy, but he stood there, unfazed. The soft breeze ruffled his raven-black hair and he sighed, a deep sigh full of regrets.

I would not forget the taste of the sea, the sand that still clung to my feet from the night he asked, and the small hope that somewhere between the prayer and the chain there existed a passage wide enough for both of us to step through. This I resolved: I would learn the house and its language, but I would not give away the thing that made me distinctly me. The roof could be hers, but the rules I would one day write myself.

From the corner of my eye, I see Ragnar watching it all from the sidelines, like a messenger of death himself. A rogue tries to flee. Ragnar's scythe spins out of his hand, decapitating him, but he doesn't kill him, I notice, just as someone knocks me down and just like that, I'm carried into the heat of the battle again. Ryker, on the other hand, blurs between wolf and human, leaving dead men in his wake till the last of the rogues stands. "Who sent you?" Ryker asks. I wobble on my feet, completely exhausted but manage to keep the stray wolf firmly in a chokehold.

I tell him seeing the helicopter still sitting on top of the roof. “Lose the pants, baby. Now!” I glance again and see that the pilot looks busy as his head is focusing on the controls. “Baby, trust me he can’t see us. This is one way glass. I paid a fortune for it incase some fucking nosey and bold photographer decided to pay for a heli to get on my roof. Nobody can see you. Now. Lose. The. Pants. Or, I am going to rip them off your body with my own teeth.”

The shot echoed in the stairwell, and the man crumpled. Victor stepped over the body, his face grim. Each guard he took down was one less obstacle between him and Miguel. When he reached the final door, he could hear the whirring of helicopter blades outside. His heart raced faster. Was he too late? Victor kicked the door open and burst onto the rooftop, weapon raised. The night air hit his face, cool against his sweat-soaked skin. The helicopter waited, blades already spinning lazily, ready for a quick escape.

I stood up from my bed, then let my cloth dropped before going into the shower to freshen up, after freshening up, I took out a short flay black skirt with a black skin leggings. I wore a black tube then wore the black jacket before wearing my black boots, I cleaned up my wounds after I was done before proceeding to the rooftop to take some fresh breaths. I went out to the rooftop after taking my phone, getting there, I sat down on the roof. When I looked up at the rooftop, I saw him hiding there suspiciously. “Aish! What kind of demon is he? Is he a cat or a cheetah?” I mumbled to myself while staring at the rooftop where Raven was hiding, while my hands were on my waists. When I reached for the rope in my bag, I threw it on the roof like I was catching some fish and gently shoved it to ensure I was holding something to help me climb. As I tried to lift myself on the roof, it became difficult and my hands started aching. As I climbed the rope, I heard someone hissed.

"I've done my snooping around Aaron and Marco and what you told us doesn't fit right. Marco doesn't like heights, he doesn't like the rooftop and Aaron isn't like that, at least with everyone." "But first, what are you doing at the rooftop?" Damian cut off her confused sister and looked at Hestia with suspecting eyes. The thing Hestia feared came. They started questioning her. She has two options: lie, or tell the truth. She's there again, contemplating on the two choices she has at hand. There again goes the long silence in the room. I gasped seeing the beautiful view and the beautiful set up of the rooftop. "Why didn't you tell me about this? It's so beautiful, I thought this stair only lead to nothing." I said as I walked to see the full view of New York at night. The wind was pretty strong tonight but the view won the game.
