~Muriel~ Having a meal with so many people made me drip down in sweat. I couldn’t meet anyone’s gaze. It was a lively feast. We were all seated opposite each other around a large, long folding banquet table, 96 inches long to the end of the dining room, 42 inches wide to the rounding chairs, and 30 inches high from the floor. The men were talking about their political ambitions and stuff like that while the women recalled Alpha Bryson’s last ball. Only me and Jennifer, the newly lifted Omegas were as silent as the grave.

“Forty chairs, at eight per round table, that’s five tables, plus a rectangular style for the wedding party, which adds two rectangular tables.” The woman working the rental desk leans over the counter, pad in hand, racking up the order and charges. “What about a cake table? You’ll need a smaller round for that. Will you want a drink bar?” I pull the bible from my back pocket and flip through the pages, thankful I find a seating chart, which I’ve expanded, along with additional needed tables. “She had us use a coffee table for the gifts, so we’ll need a gift table. Definitely some kind of bar. Shit.”
