I’m in your mind.” Maxine stares blankly at the wall. “Great.” She nods once. “I’ve lost it.” “No, you haven’t.” The voice giggles. “I’m your wolf.” “My what?” “Your wolf.” There was excitement in the voice now. “I wanted to introduce myself earlier, but we were too weak. All I could do was sit quietly and hope you don’t die.” Maxine rubs her face. “Oh my goodness.” The words come out as a whisper. “I am completely insane.”

I turned to Luna Maisie and said, "Thank you Luna. May I give you a hug please?" Luna Maisie smiled kindly and opened her arms. "Yes Celia. You are always welcome to hug me." She wrapped her arms around me and held me tight. This was the most comforting hug I had ever felt in my life. Even my wolf came forward and pressed against the front of my mind to enjoy this moment. Luna Maisie smiled at me and whispered, "You and your wolf are special. You are strong. You are beautiful. You are smart. You are safe. You are loved. We are glad you are both home." 'That will be me,' the voice spoke again, replying to my every question. Who are you? I asked aloud. 'I'm Joanne. Your wolf.' I have a wolf now? I asked the obvious.
