Slowly, the dark shadow of the moon began to creep across the bright face of the sun. One by one, people raised their glasses. Cheers and gasps rippled through the gathering as the sunlight dwindled. Then, in a breathtaking moment, the sun was completely covered. The sky turned deep twilight, the brighter stars became visible, and around the dark silhouette blazed the brilliant white halo of the sun’s corona.

She said, "Me neither." I replied, forcing a smile. "So, about my lilies, when are you going to have the maids plant them?" She questioned. "When Riel gets back, he will inform the maids." But when it does, the power it grants is extraordinary." I look down at the page. There's a drawing of a crescent moon partially swallowed by shadow. Just like my mark.

But it troubled him—troubled him to know something bad might be happening with Sheera. "The prophecy, Alpha," Mortha replied with a worried expression. "I have yet to gather more information on it, but I can feel it drawing close. Also, we'll be having the Eclipse moon in a short time from now." The Eclipse moon was a rare time when the sun usually met with the moon, causing darkness during the day or daylight during the night. It was very rare and only happened once in centuries. He didn't just fall; he steered us, his large frame acting as a shield against the jagged debris of the falling island. We hit the ground not with a thunk, but with a shockwave that flattened the dead, grey grass for miles. I coughed, my lungs screaming as the thick, ashen air of the Wastelands rushed in. I pulled myself from Eryx’s grip, my emerald eyes blinking against the gloom. The sun was no longer golden or even violet. It was a black disc, ringed by a halo of sickly, pulsing purple light. The Great Eclipse had begun.

I furrowed my brows in confusion as there was no island or any landmass that I could see. Just as I was about to ask a question, the sun rose just over the horizon and a brilliant flash of gold erupted over the entire skyline, momentarily blinding me. When my vision cleared of the golden haze I gasped in surprise as a massive island appeared out of nowhere. It was huge and there were hundreds of dragons in the air and on the highest mountain peak was a beautiful stone structure, carved out of the mountainside itself, the brilliantly coloured rocks looking like magic.

She lowered her eyes to look down at the floor and I take this as an opportunity to slide a finger under her sheen and tilt her face towards me again. “Zeus and I want you, our hearts choose you and Harmony. We are mates, fated or chosen, doesn't matter anymore. We were forced to rejet one another against our wills, surely the Moon goddess can restore our bond or create a new one.” I proceeded to explain to her that tonight is special because there is going to be a red Moon. This happens when sunlight reaches the Moon when passing through Earth’s atmosphere. But as I looked up at the sky, the true shift was happening. The deep, bruised-purple shadow of totality was finally sliding away. A brilliant, blinding sliver of golden sunlight cut through the unnatural twilight, spilling across the ruined courtyard and hitting the frost still clinging to my fingertips. The solar eclipse was ending. The sun was reclaiming the sky.
