I ignore Evren’s voice and do the only thing that I’m good at… run away. “Tabitha!” I rip my arm from Evren’s grasp when he tries to reach for me. I hear more people calling my name, maybe Jace, maybe my mom, but I don’t look back. I can’t look back. I need to get out of here! I don’t stop. I just run, pushing past the stone path. My aching heels scrape the edge of the gravel as I dart straight toward the trees beyond the estate. Away from the lights. Away from them all. The familiar spread of the woods welcome me as I dart towards the towering trees. It reminds me of the last time I went there, I was also trying to run away from the bullies who were chasing me.

“Well, baby, this is Hector, and sorry to break it to you but we are done. And it'd been so long since we were done but guess what? You never read the vibe. It was nice doing a mafia princess Annie.” Then the phone beeps. I stare into the distance. Hector… he cut the call. He… I bit my lip, trying to keep in the tears but it came spilling anyway. I bolt to my feet. Escape. I need an escape. But I just woke up, and I'm not sleepy. I walk towards my reading table and sit down, drawing my books closer. This is an escape too. Working towards my masters degree at Stanford is an escape too.

I sighed and shook my head, trying my best to ignore his protruding presence and I was successful for about twenty minutes until he opened his mouth “What are you running away from?” That sentence. 'What am I running away from’ has only one reply. Am I that broken that even a stranger could see through me? (Just a little spoiler: Dylan is somewhat important in the story development)

He makes me work like a slave in his house. I know I have to run away from the lights. It sounds like a party or a feast is going on. This man had me running away from him. Never thought that I would run away from a man was always the other way around.

Running away from that situation was the biggest blunder I ever made. I’ve been running since childhood. At first i run away from the monster who chased me every night to hunt me down and leave me almost dead, but not dead. Then, i run away from the reality, i wasn’t ready to accept what i was going through and what it caused me. I tried to run away from my own phobia by disciplining the treatment and therapies. And then, I tried to run away from my own feelings for Jenny, which obviously didn’t work because Jenny is the kind of woman who refused to leave my mind and heart by staying in my thoughts all the time. Being a helpless bastard in love, I had to accept that because there was no way

I just want to get away from the people whose faces always will remind me that I was fooled to fulfil their ambitions. Yes, I should get away from here. I don't want to stay with him anymore. Getting a grip on my weak form I tried to get out of the room and far away from here but as soon as I took the first step a big question arose in my mind where could I run away from his predatory light brown eyes. He will find me and bring me back to cage me in here where he is assured that his dream ambitions are not affected by my action after that's what he is doing from the very start.

I decided to left the room as along with the fragrance of roses I could smell him too and I wanted to run away from him and the truth of his existence. Shutting the door behind me I kept walking as I wanted to walk away from everyone and didn’t want to talk about anything. In order to hide from everyone there was only one place in this whole mansion and that was that old library. I still remember that book which started from F**k! I love her.

I didn't stop until I was out of the archives and back in the cold night air, hoping to God that no one had seen me leave.
