Alessandro seized the pistol in Colin’s hold and gunned down three of the men. The remaining seven jumped into the car hurriedly, the leader stepping on the gas as they drove off. There was silence now. Casualties lay on the bloodied ground—twenty men dead. Eric chortled out a humorless laugh as he leaned against a car, hand clutching his bloodied abdomen. “A fucking ambush,” he said through bloodied teeth. “Hang on,” Alessandro heaved, teeth clenched tightly from the weakening pain.
