Samuel let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. Samuel: We need to talk. Her reply came just as fast. Ava: Yes, we need to talk. He leaned forward, his fingers flying over the screen as he typed: Samuel: Give me your house address. For a moment, the chat remained still, no typing indicator, no response. Samuel stared at his phone, waiting, but the reply never came. The sound of the bathroom door opening made him stiffen. He quickly locked his phone and tucked it into his pocket as Raymond strolled out, running a towel over his damp hair.

“I’ll come back, I promise.” “My dear, would it be okay if I borrowed your dad for a quick moment? I promise it’s nothing serious—you don’t need to worry, okay?” “Okay! The afternoon of the following day, Harvey finally decided to visit Sammy. He thought that she must have stayed at home since it’s the weekend. He was also hoping that the woman he saw was really Sammy. After he informed his mother of his plan, he drove promptly to Sammy’s house. On the other hand, Sam was busy listening to the music through her wireless earphones while washing her car. Hence, she did not notice when a car stopped in front of her house. She was covered with sweat throughout her body while rinsing her car. She prefers to do it herself than bringing it to the carwash station to serve as her routine exercise every weekend.

The pair locked eyes, both panting. Little beads of sweat dotted Mike's brow. 'I want to taste his sweat,' Sammy realised, biting his lip. He'd never felt such an urge before tonight. "Let's go back to your house," Mike whined, pulling on both of his arms. "Why can't we go back to yours," Sammy asked, just out of interest. He figured he was an embarrassment to Mr Popular, though he was clinging to some vague hope that wasn't the case. "Your house has brownies," the food-obsessed boy replied as if the answer were obvious. "Plus my house has two annoying older brothers."

As his eyes room her body, he begins to feel an uncomfortable tightening in his lower regions. “Good to know.” He tells her with a nod, before he walks away once more. This time not as quickly, since he has a rather unfortunate predicament in his jeans at the moment that hinders his escape. As he makes his way into the office, he finds Samuel sitting behind the desk with his feet propped up on the counter and a machanics magazine in his hands. Sammy is going to school to be a mechanics and they guy lives and breathes vehicles. He works midnights at the motel to support himself, his young girlfriend and their newborn baby.

Now I knew what he’d done, I could return the favor. I followed his scent through the city. His terrible cologne hung in the air like thick smoke, cheap, overpowering, impossible to miss. It led me to a quiet, fancy neighborhood where every house looked the same. White fences. Trimmed lawns. Trees planted at perfect angles. Everything looked like it had been cleaned three times over. I didn’t get out of the car. I didn’t need to. I just turned the engine off and listened. From where I sat, I could see through the dining room window. Sammy was seated with his parents, piling food on his plate like he hadn’t eaten in days.

She warned. “Yes ma’am!” Samantha chuckled and kissed my cheek as she walked past me. “Having a good day?” “Be better if you were here.” I smiled. “Oh please. Get a room.” Greg muttered. “Careful Greg, this is technically MY house...” Samantha laughed as she went up the stairs. “But lucky for you your kids are too cute to be homeless!” ~~~

Sam asked, “Do you mind telling me clearly which house you’re talking about? We’ve bought hundreds of houses in the past year, and I’d appreciate it if you could give me the address, so we don’t waste time.” Lisa turned to her mother. “Mom? The house by the beach.” Amie said, “It’s along Bay View Avenue, or something like that. I’m sure you have it in your files.” Sam nodded. “We do have it in our files, a hundred of them, the ones along Bay View Avenue.” Lisa stared at him. “Is that so? A hundred? Wow!” “Sounds like the whole neighborhood,” Amie said. Sam was getting rather agitated now. These two women were wasting his time, time he’d rather be spending on his work or with Chan and Lilly.
