As we neared our house, I could see a government transporter parked out front. Father’s hand reached out and brought me to a standstill. There were two security personnel standing in our doorway. “What is it?” I asked. “Nothing, nothing.” He quickly cleared his thoughts before I was able to decipher anything further. “Let’s see what they want,” he said, striding forward. The security men wore strange helmets I had never seen before— they were certainly not regulation. As we approached, I targeted my mind on each in turn, only to draw blanks. I was being blocked, which seemed impossible until I realized it must be the helmets.

And that's an order. But Hawk couldn't leave it alone. His mind became aware of where his feet had taken him just as he entered the amber rim of firelight beneath the rowan trees at Adam's forge "Welcome Lord Hawk of Dalkeith-Upon-the-Sea." Hawk spun about to come nose to nose with the glisten-ing blacksmith, who had somehow managed to get behind him. Not many men could take the Hawk by surprise, and for an instant Hawk was as fascinated as he was irritated with the smithy.

A man walked by his side, and I assumed that it was his father, Elijah, approached us, and looking at Katerina he froze for a second before shaking his head, snapping himself out of whatever daze he fell into. “Alpha Domenico” he said, looking at the Lycan who smiled. “Elijah, it is nice seeing you here” “I am part of the city’s businessmen, it is only right to attend such social events” he said, smiling at him before turning to face Katerina and I “my apologies for my rudeness. I’m Elijah Grimaldi, and this is my wife, Sophia Grimaldi”

But I followed him. I could not stay behind. Outside the gates stood a tall man with a thick skin and deep blue eyes. Alpha Kael. He looked even stronger than the last time I saw him. Alpha power was already smelling on his body and he was breathing like thunder. His eyes found me immediately right there as I got lost in thought. “Annie,” his voice cut across the room. “I have come for my mate and my pups.” The woods went silent for a while. I felt another kind of power as Damon touched me.

“That’s an order, Natalia.” Her jaw tightened, lips pressing into a thin line, but she didn’t argue, not this time. She turned and vanished toward the main house. I could hear her calling out orders inside, and for a fleeting moment, I allowed myself to breathe easier. At least, I knew that I didn’t have to worry about protecting her out here. “Alpha, they managed to breach the secret gates.” One of the gammas said, and I growled. “Make sure that they die before they leave the tunnels.” I said, looking at him. He nodded, and I grabbed one of the rogues just as she approached me.

"Alpha, Nicholas. While I don't know him on a personal level, I do know who he is." Everyone's attention falls on my mate as Nick signals for her to carry on while my gut twists and already I have absolutely no doubt that whatever she's about to tell us next will result in me ending that prick's life. "His name is Talon Beckham. He's one of the leaders of the... pack, and unfortantly, he is my mate." Yeah, he's going to die!

His tone alone told me everything. A problem. I tapped the screen. Video footage appeared. A private lounge. Low lighting. Expensive whiskey. Discreet conversation. And at the center of it Samuel. Senior stakeholder. Board member. Longtime opportunist disguised as loyalist. He leaned toward a small group of investors, speaking quietly, confidentially. But my surveillance system heard everything. “He’s weak,” Samuel was saying. His voice carried careful certainty. “He’s canceling travel. Shortening meetings. Avoiding public appearances.”

"She's not alone, Big man. I've sent her brother and Alec to her. Unfortunately, we can't have a pack of wolves entering the building so that will have to do. I'm on my way from the sanctuary but I'm still a distance out. I won't get there in time. I trust she will know what to do." My blood turned to ice which had my body going rigid. Sam was a beta in his previous pack even though he wasn't a full-blooded werewolf. He was strong and honed his other senses so he wouldn't be at a disadvantage from losing his hearing. He was well trained and I trusted him to protect Dea.

Alexter said as I look at them all still confused. “W-Wait, wait am I the only one getting dizzy on this sudden event or not. So, let me get this clear one’s and for all.
