He carried a steaming cup of something in his hand, and when he smiled at me, it was the kind of smile that made people trust him, made people fall at his feet.
“You’re up,” he said, walking over, that signature Oliver Baker calm in every step. “How do you feel?”
I groaned, rubbing my temples. “Like someone hit me with a sledgehammer, God my head hurts”
He handed me the cup. “Take this. It’s a secret recipe. Kills hangovers in seconds.”
I accepted the tea wordlessly, grateful for something warm. I took a sip, the heat stinging my tongue but waking me up all the same. I nodded, lips twitching into a small smile.
