VELVET CONTROL

VELVET CONTROL

That wasn’t synthetic. Neither was mine. A soft tone interrupted the silence. New notification. Not from the apartment. From my tablet. I crossed the room slowly and picked it up. The screen displayed a single classified document. PROJECT ORPHEUS Behavioral Synchronization Trial – Phase III Primary Objective: Emotional Dependency Pairing for Executive Stabilization My blood went cold. Below it— Subject A: Reid, Shawn Subject B: Agreste, Catriona Status: Convergence Successful Shawn went utterly still behind me.

Fictitious Reality

Fictitious Reality

There was no use in talking to Sam when his brain was in the ‘All are Crazy’ zone. Ron walked to his private chamber and sat on his chair. Then, he looked at the notifications displayed on the wall-screen. Most of them were just regular ones. But, one notification caught his attention, ‘Unusual Occurrence.’ He tapped on it quickly, and the video started streaming. It was the footage from the room Sia got locked. He felt very proud when he saw the way Sia handled everything. It also gave him an idea. He sent an SOS to Jay, ‘There is some problem in Room number 38, please check!’

Bound to the Moon: The Exorcist's Accidental Alpha

Bound to the Moon: The Exorcist's Accidental Alpha

"But the ocean has a long memory. The Gamma strain you carry is a fragment of my divinity." Scarlett Night didn't retreat. She stepped to the edge of the floating stage, her star-star cloak billowing in the sudden gale. She didn't draw a talisman for water-repelling; she tapped the Stellar Navigator on her belt with a rhythmic, coding sequence. "System," Scarlett’s voice was cold, amplified by the Ark’s sub-space relays. "Identify the biological signature of the intruder." "Analysis complete," the AI responded. "Subject 003-Gamma Variation: 'The Kraken Protocol'. Psionic density: 400% above standard Siren levels. Recommendation: Thermal Evaporation."

Hazel: Queen Of The Half Bloods

Hazel: Queen Of The Half Bloods

Anslem, Rubian Capital 2030 The triplets exchanged bewildered glances. "How do we know you're not lying?" Trey asked, his eyes narrowed. Yuka let out an exasperated sigh and using his mind's eye, he displayed what was going on outside, on the wall of General Spiers study, like a projector. Eight men were trying to break into the front door of their apartment. General Spiers immediately went pale. Now, do you believe me?" Yuka asked.

Nanny Bil-aries

They were fast—unnaturally fast. “Signal sent,” Nomo whispered as the tablet chimed. He looked up just as the first creature lunged from the shadows, its jaw unhinging to reveal rows of needle-like silver teeth. He raised his sword, the silver blade humming with his own desperate energy. “Sofia... I hope you’re watching.” (SOFIA QUISPE’S POINT OF VIEW) “The signal is coming from the basement levels of Warehouse 14,” Phuwin said, his fingers flying across the keys. “I’m trying to override their security, but someone is counter-coding me in real-time. It’s Klaus. He’s been waiting for us to trip this wire.”

To Marry a Monster

To Marry a Monster

"On the previous watch, your vocal cords released the names of Rickey Owen and Janet Lawrence; however, my intelligence units found zero matching records in the Dominion ledgers. Provide the missing network markers so my scouts can narrow the parameters." The second my voice hit the space, the old woman's pupils shrank with intense, paranoid vigilance. She dragged Chika deeper into her personal space, her claws digging into his uniform as she shielded his frame with her own body. A wave of raw terror rolled off her skin, her beast misidentifying my chair as a extraction unit designed to tear Chika from her sector. Chika winced, his muscles locking under the sheer force of her grip.

Ruthless Vows: The Billionaire Revenge

Ruthless Vows: The Billionaire Revenge

"Where are you? Please call me." Another message came. "I know you found something. We need to talk." How did he know? I turned off my phone. On the plane, I found a paper I hadn't seen before. Newer. At the top it said "ACTIVATION PROTOCOL - PHASE THREE." Below that was tomorrow's date. And at the bottom: "Subject C-8 must return to base in 48 hours or the death sequence will start." They would kill me if I didn't come back.

Matthew replied, "Every information network in the facility can only be accessed by local channels here!" They finally reached a section of pods with a Label Y. They both looked up and saw the subject Y-23T2 still unconscious within. The same dark skin human-looking fiend who caused major chaos some days ago, laying on the other side of the barrier. Matthew dabbed on his watch. Several panels of information manifested in front of him, all with Yaksha's information on it. He also clicked on the button beside the pod until a woman's figure manifested in front of them. Her features and movement were too mechanical to be a human's.

Still coming along nicely. The Archie plot has hot a good point. I feel there is more to come with Rain in the story and I like that. It is good to acknowledge the news spread of his accomplishments beating down Archie, but I would shorten the side conversations of the random people.
Erika Delevine
I'm honestly surprised that this story doesn't have more views and reviews. It's well-written, moves at a relaxing pace and the author did an amazing job with the descriptions. The characters has great depth, personalities that stand out. It is also clean and well-edited.

My Husband's Double Life

My Husband's Double Life

Pure horror crossing her face. Emma noticed immediately. "What is it?" Rachel didn't answer. She simply handed over the page. Emma looked down. And froze. It wasn't a report. It wasn't a photograph. It was a recent surveillance image. Taken only three months ago. The photograph showed a young woman stepping out of a black car. Her face was partially hidden. But visible enough. Emma's breath stopped. Because the young woman looked exactly like her. And written beneath the photograph were five terrifying words: SUBJECT THREE HAS AWAKENED.
