Also, this genome script comes from a member of the world's most shady organization which made Creed want to avoid learning it even more. However, after facing an anomaly, he realized how foolish he was. Earlier, Creed had mistakenly believed that his newly acquired dual blade combat skill: 'Sword Orbit' but he moronically underestimated the Glitch. Price? Shattered confidence, coming closer to death than ever before, intrusive nightmares, and a sense of inadequacy and hurted like a kick in the crotch.

A Rise to power: Chairman Blade Useless Bodyguard

The man's daughter, tiptoed as he bent over for her to reach Axe, her small fingers reaching out to touch Axe's bruised arm, whispered, "It's okay, mister. Papa will take care of you." ‘I came here to find a kid to raise into an indomitable bodyguard that will be loyal to you for life, and yet you chose such a weakling and useless thing?’ Chairman Blade thought, staring down at Axe and then at the worried way his daughter glanced at him, her tiny hand holding onto hid dirty ones as tears trickled down her peachy cheeks.

Dear Alpha, You Are Not My Type!

Dear Alpha, You Are Not My Type!

He was talking to his assistant, oblivious to the fact that he wouldn’t be making his flight. Anders crouched beside me, scanning the scene. “You’ve got one shot at this, Skylar. We don’t have time for mistakes.” I smirked. “Do I ever make mistakes?” He shot me a look but didn’t argue. Instead, he checked his watch. “The moment he turns to hand off his bag, that’s your window. A hit to the jugular or the temple will do the job.” I adjusted my stance, my muscles coiling as I readied the throw. Timing was everything. A thrown blade didn’t have the instant speed of a bullet, it had to be calculated, precise.

The silver blade cut through enhanced muscle and tendon, sending it crashing to the forest floor. The perimeter breach had turned out to be a scouting party—four hybrids, two human handlers with tactical gear. Test run, most likely. Probing our defenses before the eclipse. "Clear on the east," Mason's voice crackled through the radio. "Two neutralized." "South perimeter clear," another voice confirmed. I finished the wounded hybrid with a knife through the eye socket—the most reliable way to kill them, we'd discovered. Silver to the brain. Nothing else stuck. Silas approached, his own silver blade dripping black hybrid blood. "That's all of them."

“We didn’t want to bring it to you with everything going on in the council. We thought we could manage it.” I turned on him, eyes narrowed. “Stop using that brain of yours and always tell me matters like this.” He lowered his gaze. “Understood.” I exhaled sharply, about to walk away when something glinted in the grass near a thick bush. I crouched again, brushing aside the leaves until I saw it—curved, wicked, and unmistakable. A rogue’s blade. I picked it up carefully, inspecting the bloodstained edge. It wasn’t from any blacksmith in the realm. This was custom-forged—lightweight, designed for speed and silent kills. I could almost taste the lingering energy it radiated.

Just a regular blade, meant for shaving the legs. The blade was small and harmless. But in that moment, it felt like the only way I could gain control of my life again. Something sharp, which would take this pain off my mind and help me decide. I stared into the mirror, at the mess of myself… lips swollen, eyes red, the fresh mark on my neck crusted with blood. I hated her! I hated how I looked, I hated the helpless bitch staring back at me. To an outsider’s eyes, she looked like someone who had been chosen and mated, but I knew the truth.

She saw the new blades, and for a second, a shadow of Aethelred’s doubt crossed her face. “Caleb,” she whispered. “I’ve got it,” he said. He drew the right-hand dagger. It didn't feel like metal; it felt like a hole in the world. He didn't just throw it; he aimed his intent. The blade left his hand and vanished. It didn't fly through the air; it "blinked." A split second later, the dagger reappeared a hundred feet in the sky, buried deep in the brass engine of the Scout-Falcon.

He had heard when Saadiya screamed his name, he could see the pain and anger in her facial expression and as he watched her approach him, he withdrew a small knife from underneath his shirt and held it out of the sight of the others. He smirked, he would take down one more person, this would be as a warning to Mariam, she had dared him when she had thrown that knife. Saadiya ran up to Aazim and kicked him hard on the face with the sole of her shoe, the force brought him down and as she readied for another blow, Aazim stood up and swung the knife towards her but a soldier, just in time, held her from behind and pulled her back so Aazim's knife only sliced the air. She watched as he frowned at the button , his chiseled face was like a sculpture, he had thick and roughly carved brows she felt like running her hands on them. He had a well carved beards which had evidence of not been shaved for a while, they where prickly but also tickled wherever his face brushed her arm. The lock of hair that had been on his forehead head was now brushing his eyes, Ann had the strongest urge to brush it from his eyes and indeed they did feel marvelously silky. Oh on! She had touched it, and now he was looking at her. But this time not only did he look frustrated, there was something else, it wasn't there before and it reminded her of the day at the library.

Harlow chuckles and nods. I walk over to the ground, where I tackled the one kid and picked up the knife by the hilt. I touched the blade, and sure enough, it burned my skin. It's a silver switchblade. A weapon banned by both Councils. I turn around and look at John. I fold the blade back in and toss it to him. "We have a problem. Illegal weapons." John unfolds the knife and touches the blade. "This can't just be some simple fight among ragging hormonal boys. It doesn't make sense. Why be so brazen and stupid!" John pinches the bridge of his nose.

Loved this story and I love me some Gideon! Super strong female that doesn’t take garbage behavior lying down nor does she excuse repugnant behavior because of a mate bond. If you love well written plots with characters you love, hate and love to hate, a touch of smut and some cute twins, read this!

This has been very intriguing to say the least. The writing style changes frequently in all the best ways. Jessica is able to illustrate very lively imagery at times, move the story quickly at others, and use a vernacular in ways that do not ultimately detract the reader from the story. I want more!
