Nik’s gentleness amused me, and I couldn’t help but watch them while smiling widely. I felt someone looking at me, so I looked at Nik’s friend. He’s sitting on the single couch like a king. His legs were parted, and when our gazes met, he gave me a small smile. “I’m Sebastian. Feeling better?” His voice was cold, and yet soothing, just like Nik’s. Nodding, I smiled at him. “Yes. Thank you. I’m Blakely, by the way.”

Surprisingly, Sebastian, and even Benjamin, who was known as the special forces king, came back from afar. As a father, he had never even heard of it, which shows how embarrassing it was. Some people had completely fallen for the looks of Sebastian and Benjamin, not only because of their faces, but also because of their distinctly different personalities. Sebastian greeted politely. Claudia Blackwood smiled at him, but her eyes flicked to Kaira with their usual disdain. “Mr. Ashford,” she cooed, pulling Sebastian into a brief, calculated hug. Though her expression was warm, her intentions were anything but warm. She had already begun scheming to somehow turn Sebastian into Evelyn’s. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, as Evelyn was still infatuated with Julian, but her greed made her relentless. Sebastian remained composed, offering only a polite smile. Meanwhile, Julian and Evelyn ignored their arrival entirely, remaining seated at the dining table.

Ruby POV Everyone warned me to be careful of him. I should have listened. Sebastian was a blond beast with dark green eyes, eyes that seemed to swirl with darkness, though they shared a shade of purple like mine. "It’s a game." I didn’t have to wait long for the monster to appear. The door opened without warning—no knock, no footstep—just the slow groan of wood as it swung inward. And there he was. Sebastian. No crown. No royal robes. Just a plain black shirt, sleeves rolled to his forearms, dark gloves pulled tight over his hands. His hair was damp, combed back with brutal precision. He looked... unremarkable. If I didn’t know the man he truly was, I might have mistaken him for someone almost ordinary.

Pushing the door open, they both walk inside with Amelie trailing behind lady Lisa. King Sebastian turns from the window side, but his mouth almost drops open when she sees Amelie looking so beautiful in the long purple blouse she's wearing. It was an homage to an era of cinema that Sebastian had merely strip-mined for profit. Silas reached up and drove his tanto through the canvas, tearing it from the frame with a dry, screeching rip.

I lean against the wall and sigh at the reality: I've been sprinkling glitter on a broken vase instead of trying to glue it back together again. "WOAH!" Katie yells once Sebastian hands her the finished product of shadows, midtones and shades of black and light gray. "Do you like it?" Sebastian asks her. His voice is uncertain, almost like he's sure she doesn't like the result. But the way she runs and hugs him tightly says otherwise. "It looks just like me!" says Katie when she lets go of him.
