Blood On The Clocktower Bad Moon Rising Novels & Stories

Emereah's eyes went wide with confusion. "There is no spark in me." But her hands trembled. Mira left without saying anything else. Meanwhile, deep within the palace in the East Tower… Alexandria lay shackled to the wall, wrists bruised, breath shallow—but her eyes burned with life. She stared at the moonlight filtering through the narrow slit of stone above. The Blood Moon rises. She turned her face upward. “You’ll remember,” she whispered. “You have to.” Footsteps echoed. Then the door creaked open.

> thrum … silence … thrum … silence … thrum … …silence… For the first time since creation’s dawn, there was a pause too long to be ignored. --- The Second Blood Moon The pause broke on a night when the stars vanished completely. No one remembered such darkness. The sky was a deep wound, the air heavy and still. Then, slowly, a red light began to rise over the horizon. The Blood Moon. Its reflection rippled across the towers and rivers, painting the city in crimson. The flames in every hearth grew restless, flaring higher, hissing as if alive. And then the whispers began. At first, they seemed like wind.

The Scarred Plains stretched before them, a vast expanse of blasted terrain where ancient battles had rendered soil permanently infertile. Nothing grew here except memories of violence, the ground itself bearing witness to conflicts forgotten by all except the land. Jagged rock formations rose like broken bones from cracked earth, their shadows lengthening as the sun began its descent toward horizon. "The celestial alignment begins tonight," Serena observed, her violet eyes tracking the sky where daylight still concealed celestial movements. "The Blood Moon will rise at midnight, directly above the capital."

As she finished, a flash of gold light erupted — the pendant appeared, floating. She grabbed it. The moment her fingers closed around it, the monsters crumbled into dust. Zane dropped to his knees beside her, bloodied but alive. “We make a good team,” she whispered, touching his cheek. He pulled her close. “We always will.” The third night had arrived — the Blood Moon loomed over the cursed mountain, its crimson glow spreading like a wound across the heavens. The mountain trembled with ancient rage and dark magic — the same one that once imprisoned Malrik, and the same one that would end him tonight.

Not like a storm. Not like clouds. But like smoke… burning red. Kellan burst through the door, breathless. “It’s happening,” he said. “What is?” Ember asked. “The Blood Moon.” Ember blinked. “That’s impossible. It isn’t due for another four months.” “I know,” Kellan said. “But it’s here.” They rushed outside. And there it was … a blood-colored moon rising before evening had even begun. Too large, too bright, casting an eerie crimson glow across the pack grounds.

--- Chapter Nine: The Blood Moon Rising The weight of the night was oppressive. The moon, now full and glowing red, hung low in the sky like a judgment, casting long, eerie shadows over the forest. It was a Blood Moon—a rare celestial event that Aria had only heard about in whispered legends. But she hadn’t known how much darker and more dangerous it would feel until it was right above her. She stood on the balcony of Kade’s cabin, her fingers gripping the railing, eyes fixed on the crimson moon. Something about it called to her. It felt as if it was alive, aware, watching her—waiting.

Seven did not answer. “You kissed under the moon. Waxing. Full. Waning.” Suddenly, Seven gasps. Her grip on my hand tightens. “I see blood being spilled. Help them. A betrayal. Trust no one. An enemy must be defeated. I see death.” Seven slumps forward onto the table. She appears to have lost consciousness. I attempt to rouse her. “Seven? Wake up.” What the hell just happened? Seven groans and stirs. When she opens her eyes, they have returned to normal.

“Something’s happening inside!” Aria and Selene exchanged a glance before sprinting toward the hall. The massive wooden structure stood at the heart of the village, its roof illuminated by the fiery glow of the Blood Moon. As they approached, the heavy double doors groaned, swinging open with an unnatural force. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of blood. Aria’s heart raced as her eyes adjusted to the dim light, landing on a scene of chaos. The village elder, a man known for his strength even in old age, lay slumped in his chair, his throat torn open. Blood pooled around his feet, reflecting the crimson light from above.

Outside, the first sliver of blood moon rises, staining the window crimson. Tonight, the Academy will dance. And so, it seems, will I.

as the world slowed to a crawl as she watched him fall to the ground with blood pooling rapidly around him. He didn't even have the time to react. "No!" she cried, rushing to his side. She knelt beside him, her hands trembling as she tried to stop the blood. "Can you hear me? Carlson!. Please, stay with me." But Carlson's eyes were already closed, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "Luna, you have to... be strong," he managed to whisper. Tears streamed down Seraphine's face as she held his hand, wishing there was something she could do to make this better. "I will. I promise." With a final, shuddering breath, Carlson's body went still in her arms. Seraphine felt a scream build in her chest,
