Secretary The Book Novels & Stories

Every other person had dispersed back to their posts. “Good morning Sir. I’m Lynnette Parker, your secretary.” I introduced myself, speaking in short sentences. His expression was unclear as he raised his head from his computer screen. His stern eyes locked with mine, but he gave me no acknowledgment or even a smile. Wait. Did he not recognize me? My mind raced with a million ideas, but I managed to narrow it down. “Do you need anything, sir?” "No," he shot back condescendingly, his powerful voice cold and emotionless as he waved me off.

“You’ve been thorough lately. Almost too thorough.” My pulse quickened. “Just trying to earn my keep, sir.” I said, forcing a playful edge to my voice, but my heart was pounding. Was he onto me? Had I pushed too hard with my questions earlier? He leaned back, crossing his arms. “You’ve got a lot of initiative for a secretary. Asking about security protocols, digging into projections… Most would just file papers and call it a day.” I froze, my mind racing for a cover. “I want to be more than just a secretary, Mr. Moore,” I said, meeting his gaze. “I want to learn the business, make myself valuable. Is that so strange?”

Her brows furrowed but I just smiled widely to her. I found out that Jonathan Hill is my mom's secretary. That boy did really caught my mom's trust. I went out of my mom's office and looked around to find Jonathan's cubicle. I smirked when I saw him being busy with his monitor. "Jonathan Hill," I called his name and pulled out a chair in front of him. He looks shocked while staring at me. I crossed my legs and organized my sunglasses on my eyes. He looked at me with his wide eyes. He looks really a nerd. But this boy is the reason why I became Farris' secretary.

I told myself I was just organizing paperwork, but when I opened the shared finance directory and clicked on a folder Elias had flagged two weeks ago, I found a draft memo. To: Board of Directors, Rourke Holdings From: Elias Rourke, CEO Subject: Executive Secretary Transfer – Chloe Hart Reason: To support Rourke London transition initiative (Q3). Effective: TBD. I stared at the screen. My name. My title. A transfer I hadn’t requested, discussed, or agreed to. No context. No warning. And no idea whether Gavin knew. The lights in the office buzzed above me. My breath turned shallow. And behind me, the glass door clicked softly shut.

I hope you don't mind. Her words make sense, mine don't. "Hire her as my assistant. With that said, I walked away, Grace had no reason to question me, I was the one giving the orders here she was just taking notes and nodding. When I got to my office Adonis was gone and I was internally grateful for that, I sat down at my desk and spoke to Grace on the phone. "Get the women in one at a time for the secretary interview. I hung up on hold. Now I would have to deal with at least twenty women begging for the job.

“I’m wondering which woman would want to put up with your shit.” “Don’t start with me this afternoon, I could still fire you if I wanted,” I smirked at him. By this time, the car had come to a stop in front of the office building. My dad had recently appointed me CEO of the Steele industries, so I was most times busy with my CEO duties. “You wouldn’t fire me though, I know that,” I could never fire him, that was true. He most times kept my sanity in check. “Speaking of which, the head secretary quit her job. I was called from human resources, and I was told the last one quit.”

And as his secretary, I have to keep up. The last couple of years as his secretary was very tiring, but to be completely honest, I have enjoyed it too. I learned a lot at work, I learned a lot about myself, too. I was able to develop professional skills due to how hectic Sir Troy’s schedule is. It was hard working for him, especially the first year, but at that time, I couldn’t afford to hunt for more jobs again so I did everything I could to make sure I wouldn’t get fired. The salary wasn’t something I could easily find too. And I guess my efforts paid off. After all, I was said to be the longest working secretary the Sanford empire’s CEO has ever worked with.

Helen stared at the email on her screen, reading it twice before it truly sank in. Dear Helen, We’re pleased to offer you the position of Secretary at Cole Designs… Helen stared at the screen. Once. Twice. Her eyes scanned the words again, slower this time, as if they might disappear if she blinked too fast. “No…” she whispered under her breath. Her fingers loosened. The phone slipped—tilting dangerously in her hand before she caught it just in time, her heart lurching up into her throat. “Oh my God…” She pushed herself upright on the bed, the sheets tangling around her legs as her breathing grew uneven.

His voice changes suddenly… His secretary walked in right away. @Death Wish Hi there guys! Thank you so much for your support and I want you to know that it really helped me a lot. My mind whirred into action. “Is he the new secretary to the DOF or he was retained?” I asked further, but something didn't feel right. “He was retained after Allan and some other HODs got the sack, the new DOF seems to like him a lot too.” My mind shook, could it be a coincidence? Allan sets up a very elaborate scheme to swindle the company, but he gets the sack a few weeks later His secretary was retained and suddenly the secretary seemed to be seeking me out I gradually put the clues together, thinking back on the behavior of Julian. My heartbeat quickened, Julian definitely didn't seek me out with good intentions.
