he decided urging Coryfe back into a walk.
“If I remember rightly, there’s a path through the jungle,” he murmured to himself. We walked the edge of the trees until he exclaimed. “There it is,” he pointed to two stone cairns that framed an overgrown path. He set us off along it, but it was not long until we had to dismount and put our boots back on in order to pull the greenery away and allow us through. “No one has come this way in a long time,” he observed, pausing to remove his shirt and wipe his face on it.
“It’s alright for you,” I grumbled. “I can’t remove my shirt.” Even Florien was feeling the effects of the heat, settling onto the saddle, his wings sagging heavily.
