We are here to take you back, before the Alpha’s corruption consumes you and dishonors Her will.”

“You’re staring again.” Lealla nearly jumped when Selene’s voice appeared beside her. The Moon Goddess stood invisible to everyone else, dressed in pale silver robes that moved like mist beneath the winter wind. Unlike Lealla, Selene looked entirely unimpressed by mortal kingdoms, wars, or kings. Especially kings. “I’m not staring,” Lealla muttered quietly under her breath. Selene raised an eyebrow. “You’ve been standing here for twenty minutes holding the same piece of bread while smiling at him like your soul left your body.”

Every function bent toward his existence alone. Sun. Moon. Night. He had tried to devour all three. “Not this time.” She grabbed his lines and twisted. Her white hair is cascading down her back like a long cloak and the orange-yellow robe on her body gives me the irk of something dangerous yet attractive. I have heard tales of the moon goddess but I have not been blessed to see her yet but this woman in front of me eludes all appearance of the goddess. I continue staring back at her while she continues to tend to the rose flower in her hand. “Goddess Selene?” I finally find my voice and she abruptly halts what she is doing and turns her gaze on me, immediately I feel a chill down my spine. “How dare you call me that?” She growls in anger and starts to take slow steps towards me, “how dare you call me that name?”
