Novel & Cerita Serpent Breathing

Shamira had the sinking feeling that she would never have free time again. The new addition that had hatched turned out to be another male. He was also a Sea Serpent, which was a type of Moon Dragon. Archimedes had identified it quickly based on some old pictures and they had quickly gotten it to the pond while the pool was being built. The Sea Serpents could breathe above and below the surface and could live in both salt and fresh water. And they could apparently get big. Really big.

The thrill of discovery surged through her as she pushed past the serpent's ferocity. Suddenly, the serpent lunged forward with terrifying speed, its gaping maw wide open, revealing rows of glistening teeth. Instinctively, Gabriel charged forward to intercept, meeting the serpent head-on, claws swiping through the water with feral precision. Their movements were a blurred dance of adrenaline and danger, the urgency of the moment igniting something primal within them all.

His face turned pale, then a sickly shade of blue as he gasped for breath. The serpent tightened its grip further, and Leon heard the ominous creaking of his bones, each moment pushing him closer to the edge of oblivion. His fingers clawed desperately at the creature’s smooth, slimy scales, now slick with the putrid fluid seeping from its body. The nauseating stench filled his nostrils, nearly causing him to gag as he struggled in vain to break free. "Hiss—" The serpent’s forked tongue flicked across his ear, taunting him, savoring the hunt, its cold breath brushing his skin.

In spite of that, a row of torches that reached all the way up to the edge of the opening of the volcano, illuminated around that large clearing. A pyramid of three steps and four sides made of large crude stones rose at the center of that great clearing within the forest, with a large esplanade at its top. However, this esplanade was not a flat space. Most of it consisted of a rather shallow depression filled with innumerable snakes of all kinds and sizes. Some tried to climb up the walls of that receptacle; some others crawled along the floor, while others rolled up and entwined with each other to form a mesh of vipers.

"That I can't have kids?" I squirmed, about to compliment her, but she hugged me tight. Her eyes sparkled like green jewels as she looked at me. "Honey, do you want to?" Her eyes cast a spell on me, and I nodded, my face warm. During the Bonding Ceremony, I felt so warm and fuzzy. "Why's it so soft?" Chloe winked at me. "Honey, you forgot. I'm from the Serpent race. We're naturally..." Later that night, she showed me that other rumors were wrong too.

Morris attempted to throw a crumpled cupcake paper cup from the ones we ate earlier, but it only got blown by the wind. "Another insult!" She yelled. "Sierpenti lives in the ocean. Like I said, he has a tail, fins, and gills that make him move faster than any other being in the water. Well, after all, he is a God." "So . . . He's a mermaid?" "What on Luminozenko is a mermaid?" We stared at one another for a good couple of minutes until she tried to throw another paper cupcake at me. Poor cupcake paper.

If I didn’t know any better, I would have said it was studying me. Another throb went through me. Then another. I squeezed my eyes shut. The feeling was becoming too much. My body was spiraling, my breaths heavy. This was the worst way to die for sure. When I opened my eyes, the greatest shock hit me. The serpent was…crying. I blinked. Once. Twice. Alpha Theo’s voice filled my mind almost instantly. “There's this creature, a snake from old stories…the Shadowscale Serpent. Legend says the tears of the serpent have magical properties.”

Then another. A coil thicker than I’d ever seen before. My heart slams against my ribs. A serpent. But not just any serpent. A leviathan. The creature’s body winds through the entire chamber, ancient scales layered over muscle that could crush a house. Faint blue lines trace between the ridges of its armor-like plates, glowing dimly beneath centuries of scars. At first glance, it looks like part of the cavern itself. Then its chest expands. Slowly. The movement pushes clouds of silt into the water as the massive rib cage rises before settling again. The pressure of that breath ripples through the water around me.

Afterward, he had the bucket of hot water pushed to where Black Dragon was and asked him again, "Where is Queen Scorpion?" Black Dragon refused to open his mouth and Shawn said to two of the Black Scorpions who were standing close by, "Dip his head into the water." The men lowered the chain and pushed Black Dragon into the water until it covered his entire face. He struggled while inside and tried to scream, but his voice could barely be heard as the water formed bubbles. After a while, Shawn asked for him to be taken out of the water; he was crying and panting, and his face had turned completely red while some parts of his skin had been scalded by the water. He could barely open his eyes.

When I looked into its eyes, it froze me in place! The serpent crashed into Kronos full force into his stomach, sending him crashing back first into the labyrinth wall. Blood flew from his mouth, and Kronos gasped for air. As he hunched over, clutching his stomach, the serpent crumbled into shards of stone then reconstructed into two stone serpents. The two stone snakes hissed viscously, and both slammed into Kronos. The force of the impact sent Kronos crashing through several labyrinth walls. The Half-Breed was unable to move as the two snakes became four and hovered over Kronos; after a collective hiss, three of the four slammed into Kronos once more.
