VELVET

VELVET

This one was ten times more intricate, making it a little harder for me to escape. Rolling his sleeves up, his forearms revealed ink that I had never seen before. While almost every inch of his arms had been covered with markings -on one arm, my eyes focused on a single rose with a serpent wrapped around it. Switching my gaze to his other arm, there was a dagger that pierced through the exact flower. Right below it, were the words: Like madness is the glory of this life. The quick movements of his hands had me mesmerized as he so gracefully looped the material up my arms.

The Lycan Princess and the Temptation of Sin

The Lycan Princess and the Temptation of Sin

Azura says, winking at him. Leo raises an eyebrow before he sits down again and threads his fingers together. “There’s no proof to back what I am about to say, it is pure assumptions. This beast belongs to Apophis, our seers have confirmed that it is a servant of the snake god, also known as the God of beasts, I’ve been doing some research since the name was first revealed, and if it’s true, then this serpent is nothing in comparison to what else he may have under his control.” Leo begins.

Oh Muse. Since Scarlett and Elijah I am absolutely hooked on your books and just can't get enough. You are brilliant, and every new story you write is even better than the previous one (if that's even possible). Skyla and Royce are no different. Great story plot, amazing characters. Just loved it.<3

QUEEN SCORPION

QUEEN SCORPION

Afterward, he had the bucket of hot water pushed to where Black Dragon was and asked him again, "Where is Queen Scorpion?" Black Dragon refused to open his mouth and Shawn said to two of the Black Scorpions who were standing close by, "Dip his head into the water." The men lowered the chain and pushed Black Dragon into the water until it covered his entire face. He struggled while inside and tried to scream, but his voice could barely be heard as the water formed bubbles. After a while, Shawn asked for him to be taken out of the water; he was crying and panting, and his face had turned completely red while some parts of his skin had been scalded by the water. He could barely open his eyes.

AFTERGLOW | Feralis Series No. 1

AFTERGLOW | Feralis Series No. 1

Morris attempted to throw a crumpled cupcake paper cup from the ones we ate earlier, but it only got blown by the wind. "Another insult!" She yelled. "Sierpenti lives in the ocean. Like I said, he has a tail, fins, and gills that make him move faster than any other being in the water. Well, after all, he is a God." "So . . . He's a mermaid?" "What on Luminozenko is a mermaid?" We stared at one another for a good couple of minutes until she tried to throw another paper cupcake at me. Poor cupcake paper.

Métamorphose

Métamorphose

I hung up. I rested my chin over my knuckles, casually staring at the nothingness in front of me as if it was a very normal thing to do. It's impossible for me to acquire that virus. There's no way I'm going to interact with anyone, especially now that there's a very reasonable excuse not to. Suddenly, a black and purple blur crossed my vision. I whipped my head to the side, following its trajectory. It was a butterfly.

Badblood

Badblood

A shadow loomed above her and greeted with the giant's nasty ass face. "My hands itched to kill you but I'm ordered not-" He didn't completed his words as Kebin threw him away, out into the clearing. Kebin nodded to her and back to the battle. "Viktor!" Serra called and Viktor found her. Viktor was a huge serpent, sleeky poking a four armed Badblood. His long body was full of cuts and bruises. Serra's chest was still in pain and speaking is agony. She pointed on Sisi and gladly, Viktor immediately understand.

Jaden added. “I’m excited!” David exclaimed. “Now, hold on tight. I’ll be going faster.” Sean told them and steps on the accelerator. The boys shouted in excitement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 3RD PERSON It’s almost time. Hercules thought as he wipes the blade of his sword. I’m excited to “accidentally” kill that Black Dragon. He wickedly smiled. He heard a car coming nearer and know that Black Dragon is almost there.

ALEXANDRA

ALEXANDRA

Karis, says meanwhile Alexandra who knew it was true nods her head. "So, what's the colour of the day?" Alexandra heard Karis asks, before drifting back to her thoughts. Involuntarily biting her lower lips, she nearly lets out a small moan, but gets hold of herself in time. Slowly wondering if it was the effect of the series she had just watched. She had just finished watching an episode in Elite, it was a steamy scene. Maybe that would have fueled her desires, because she was damn horny right now, and couldn't think straight, she wasn't even listening to Ruby and Karis conversation again.

Dark Dragon

Dark Dragon

No, it couldn’t be… The large beast flapped its serpentine wings above her head as it came in for a landing. It’s scales took on the color of honey, shining like mirrors in the sun, and it landed with the grace of a blue heron, as it’s onyx talons clacked against the concrete patio. Madchen gasped as the beast shook it’s shiny scales, and sitting atop its head were two beautiful black horns. Ruby eyes blinked in the morning mist, eyes that looked vaguely familiar to her.

I love this book! The story is very captivating! My only complaint is that some chapters are repeated and some excerpts of chapters are repeated, causing you to pay more than what is worth. But that isn't on the author and should be fixed by Good Novel.

I gotta give the author mad props. I mean I’m flying through this book like mad. I know the story is ongoing but come on board. So find a comfortable spot and your favorite drink and get lost in this. Oh don’t forget your blanket my house is cold. They have the air WAY TO LOW

Frequently Asked Questions

The cosmic serpent from the Norse Midgard motif, where Jörmungandr encircles the world, offers a ready-made plot for apocalyptic fantasy. It's not just a big snake; it's a living boundary, a literal and metaphorical end-of-days clock. Novels like 'The Serpent's Wake' borrow that sense of inevitability—the beast is always there, sleeping, and its waking means the world's rules change. That's different from the tempter role Eden assigned, which gets recycled into a million paranormal romances about forbidden knowledge and morally grey love interests with scales. I'm more drawn to the world-ender archetype because the stakes feel genuinely mythological, not just personal.

Asian nāga myths, beings that are serpentine but also divine and often shape-shifting, have fueled a whole subgenre of romantic fantasy. They're not monsters to be slain; they're complex rulers of hidden realms, which allows for political intrigue and court drama layered onto the supernatural element. You see this in web serials and anime constantly—the serpent deity as a morally ambiguous king or protector. It shifts the conflict from 'kill the beast' to 'understand or negotiate with the ancient power,' which I find way more interesting for long-form storytelling.

Then you've got the ouroboros, the snake eating its tail. It's less a character and more a plot device or thematic engine for stories about cycles, reincarnation, and recursive time loops. Any book dealing with 'the wheel of time' or a prophecy that loops back on itself is dipping into that symbolic well. It's perfect for dark fantasy or sci-fi where history repeats in a horrifying way, and the characters have to break the cycle. That symbol does a lot of heavy lifting without needing much explanation; readers see the loop and immediately grasp the central tension.
