In the dim light, his eyes were dark, hollowed by exhaustion and an absolute, unhinged frustration.
“She is business,” he rasped, his voice rough as gravel.
“Then why hide me?” I snapped, tears of frustration pricking the back of my eyes. “If I’m just your prisoner, why hide me in the dark when she arrives?”
Sebastian stood up suddenly, his broad frame towering over me, closing the distance between us in a single, fluid motion. The scent of rain, bitter tobacco, and high-end whiskey rolled off him, intoxicating and lethal.
“Because you are mine,” he growled.
