I hear the officer's footsteps fade away and I turn back around and notice Kyrah wearing her told-you-I-could-handle-this face. "Daughter-in-law? I gotta say, I did not see that coming," I say shaking my head and she chuckles. Moments later, after Kyrah goes to the sheriff's office, a female officer with a large set of keys opens my cell and walks me straight to the sheriff's office, where I find Vic seated with Kyrah. "The sheriff will be with you in a minute," the lady says and leaves. When the sheriff walks in, she barely looks at us, as she is busy on a phone call. She walks to her desk and takes a seat. As soon as she ends the call, Kyrah begins speaking.

A series of pictures scrolled past and Gabriella and Ben both froze as they saw the faces of her husband and their neighbors on the screen along with a number of young women. Gabriella's legs gave out and Ben guided her to the sofa. Miriam crushed herself against her mother and continued to sob. "They're not supposed to report on this without notifying the families so maybe it's a mistake?" she whispered aloud. The phone rang and she screamed a little which set Miriam off. Gabriella didn't move to get the phone so Ben walked over and picked up the handset. "Hello?" "Hello, this is Sheriff Clarkson of the Los Vegas Police Department. Who am I speaking with?"

I lowered my voice, keeping it steady. She hesitated, and her grip loosened slightly. However, she still held the surgical blade firmly in her hand. “You… You promise? Write it out now, or I–” Her voice trembled, breaking mid-sentence. After a pause, tears slipped down her face. “I didn’t want to kill anyone…” I quickly grabbed a pen and paper. “I’ll write it! I’m writing it out now! Just calm down!” I bent down, pretending to write on the floor, while quietly speaking into the earpiece, “Officer, what do we do now?”
