Craving the wolf
Gabriel walked through the battlefield like a ghost, untouched, unharmed.
I tightened my grip on my knives, adrenaline spiking for a whole new reason.
We pushed through the shattered front doors of the building. Inside, the chaos was even worse.
Smoke stung my eyes. The air reeked of blood and burnt flesh.
Broken glass crunched under my boots.
Hunters and wolves clashed everywhere, in the halls, in the training rooms, in the stairwells.
I didn't have time to think.
Instinct took over.
A wolf lunged at me, lean, fast, eyes burning yellow.
